I had waited for days, but Karren never came to see me.
Not a word. Not a visit. Not even Ryker, who had been the only one to show me around since I arrived.
Servants brought my meals in silence.
They tended to my needs with blank expressions, as if I were nothing more than another duty to be handled. And the pack, well, the pack pretended I didn’t exist at all.
