The moon hung high in the sky, casting an eerie glow over the clearing where the exchange was to take place.
My soldiers stood behind me, their bodies rigid, ready for anything. Across the clearing, the demon elders stood like dark statues, their crimson eyes flickering in the moonlight.

She stood alone.
