Amelia's POV DANGEROUS OPTIONS I felt like disappearing into thin air, but that was impossible. As soon as he called me, everyone's eyes turned to face me. My face turned bright red and I looked down. How did this happen? I had only come here for an interview but now I met him? Even though that night had been a blur, I could never forget that face, and those eyes. There was no doubt that it was him. I had a one night stand with this man and now I was face to face with him once more. That night had definitely been a mistake and I only felt embarrassed being here. My first instinct was to turn back and leave. But I stopped myself when I remembered my mother. I had to consider how worried my mother had been last time I snuck out of the house. My mother had been the one to recommend this company to me. I needed a job and she had helped. After the stunt I had pulled during my cousin's wedding I definitely didn't want to piss her off again. The man seemed to remember where he was and composed himself by straightening his shirt. He cleared his throat before taking his seat, "You are all here for the interview, correct?" He asked as his eyes moved to the others. The other applicants all turned back to face him. "Yes Sir." They answered. They still looked slightly confused but went along with it. "Alright, then I'll proceed." He said as he gestured for the first applicant to come forward. He didn't even glance at me as he began to interview the first applicant. I was genuinely surprised with how official he was acting. My body relaxed as the interview went on. Maybe he wasn't going to mention what had happened and I could just get the job without a hitch. That would definitely be a relief at least. The interview went on and every applicant was dismissed from the room after they had been interviewed. As fate would have it, I had been the last one to come for the interview. So when everyone else had been interviewed, I was left in the room alone with him. As I sat in front of him, anxiety twisted my stomach into knots. Close up, he looked even more handsome somehow. His shiny hair shook slightly as he moved and I found myself being drawn into his deep blue eyes like the first time I saw him. "What is your name?" He asked. His voice sounded different than it had during other interviews, more eager somehow. "Oh, it's Amelia..." I answered. I felt a tingle as I told this man my name. "Amelia." He repeated to himself. He wasn't talking anymore and I didn't know what to say either so I asked him the same question. "Yes. Er, what about you?" He lifted a brow in a way that suggested surprise, "Our applicants don't usually ask the questions." He smirked. "Looks like I was right before. You're definitely interesting, Amelia." He added. My heart skipped a beat. I remembered him saying that in the night club we met. My face flushed and I averted his gaze. I wasn't sure I could do this anymore. Just sitting in front of him was bad enough but the thought of working for the man who I had a one night stand with sounded impossible. It would be too hard for me. "I'm sorry... I can't." I said as I stood up from the chair. "What, you're leaving?" He asked as he stood up. I just shook my head and turned to leave. It just didn't seem like it was going to work. Sure, mom would be pissed but I could probably think up an excuse for her. She would calm down eventually after shouting for a while. "I order you to stay!" He demanded. His authoritative words gave me pause for a moment. Then I turned back to face him. "You aren't my boss yet so you can't order me around." I crossed my arms. Honestly I was tired of people telling me what to do. He stood up from his chair and walked towards me. As he got closer, I really understood just how he was. It was much harder to keep my strong stance when I had to look up to meet his eyes. He stopped only an inch from me. The heat from his body made me warm. No, I couldn't react to him like that. My breath hitched as his finger lifted up my chin. "You shouldn't act so tough when you could melt from my touch." "I..." I brushed his hand off as anger surfaced from within. "Don't lay a finger on me." I frowned. "I'm no longer interested in this job because you're way too cocky to be my boss." I turned my back to him. I already thought out how to handle my mom. I would just apologize to her and find a new job somewhere else. Sure, I really needed a job now because I was planning to start my own business but I completely lacked the capital. I wasn’t even sure I could find a job that would pay enough, at least not at my level. But at least trying somewhere else wouldn’t affect me so much because the pay here was good but still mundane. "I'll pay you double." He said suddenly. I stopped in my tracks. The pay was already good but doubly it would make it ridiculous. Double pay would change everything. I turned back to him. "Mr..." "Anderson.” He shot back. So that was his name. "Mr. Anderson, did I hear you right?" I asked. "Yes, I'll pay you double instead. What do you say?" Anderson inquired. "I..." I had no idea what to say. I couldn't work for someone who I had a sexually intense past with but I also couldn't reject this offer. The pay would allow me to start my own business earlier than I project. Hell it might not be possible otherwise. But then how could I work for him?
