Anderson's POV WILL WE, WON'T WE? “Baby are you done?” I towered over Amelia as she worked on her laptop. Amelia turned her head slightly with a smile, "I'm almost there. I just have to finish this report." God I loved that smile, my greatest wish at this moment was that I could see more of it. Of course I had seen it more and more as time passed. It had already been a year since Amelia had said yes to my proposal. Well, my fuckmate proposal that is. "You work too hard. This might take you into overtime." I pointed out. I squeezed her shoulder softly, "You should take it easy." Amelia moved her hand across her shoulder, placing it on mine. "I have to put in the work to justify how much I'm getting paid." Amelia said. I smiled in response before parting my lips, "That's why you're my favorite worker." And of course it was true. No one out worked her and her dedication to her job was admirable. Amelia gently brushed my hand off her shoulder, "I want to get back to work.” "Keeping it professional eh?" I asked as I stood up straight. "I mean we're at the office and you're my boss." Amelia muttered. She always said that. Amelia tried to keep things strictly professional between us but sometimes I couldn't help but act out of character. After all, I call the shots around here. I turned my head to survey the empty office room we were in. I reached down and picked Amelia up from the chair and into my arms. “Let me go. What if someone comes in?” Amelia tried to free herself from my grip but she failed. “That's for me to worry about, hon.” A smirk played across my lips as Amelia let out an exasperated gasp. I placed her on the table, thighs wide with my legs in between and my arms on both sides–preventing her from running away. This wasn’t the first time we had been in a position just like this, it happened very often in fact. "How about I take you out for dinner?" I drove a finger over her lips softly before pinching it tightly. Amelia hummed in response to my touch, just the way I had expected. "You sure you're taking me for dinner and not making me dinner?" Amelia narrowed her eyes on me. She sounded slightly breathless as I held her in my arms. Amelia's eyes glanced at her desk. I could see her considering her options. At that moment, I turned her gaze back to mine by obstructing her line of vision with my face. “You know how this works honey. I could mean one of them and that's for you to find out.” I trailed a finger up her thigh, massaging and squeezing. Her lavender scent invaded my nostrils, making me want to sniff every part of her. "No... no I'm sorry I still need to work." Amelia declared as she tried to jump down but I tightened my arms around her. Amelia's eyes sparkled with uncertainty as she bit hard on her lips. She wanted to work but she was also interested in what I was going to do to her. She wanted this just as much as I wanted it too. "You really shouldn't be refusing Amelia. I know you didn't have lunch today,” I pointed out. "I..." Amelia hesitated for a moment. Amelia lifted a brow in curiosity, “Are we still talking about actual food or?” Seeing my lips break out into a chuckle, Amelia pushed me away more firmly and I let go of her this time. She crossed her arms, “I've told you not to tease me like that.” I drove a hand in my hair as I walked towards her, “Okay, fine. I'm sorry but I seriously didn't see you eat lunch today.” "You are worrying too much for a supposed boss. Leave me alone, I'll eat when I want to," Amelia rolled her eyes as she turned back to resume her work. A soft sigh escaped my lips, maybe I was actually doing too much by teasing her so I took the hint to leave her alone– for a while at least. … I closed my office door, striding towards the elevator. I was already imagining the dinner I would have at home as I stepped out of the building. Raindrops drizzled from the sky, splashing on the ground in soft beats. I looked up at the sky, thunder clouds rumbled and shook with bright lightning. It was definitely going to rain heavily very soon. I increased my pace as I pulled out my car keys. The door opened with a beep as I hit the button. "Hey! Taxi!" I heard a familiar voice call. I turned to see Amelia jumping up and waving at the road. The yellow cabs she hailed seemed to ignore her as they all drove passed. I could guess that they already had customers who had also seen the coming storm. I walked over to Amelia who was only a short distance away. "Hey. Need a lift?" I asked as I got within five feet of her. Amelia turned to me, her eyes widening in surprise. As soon as she recognized me, she crossed her arms with a tight frown. "A stalker now?" She interrogated me. I smiled, "No but I could stalk you if you want.” A soft gasp escaped her lips before Amelia shook her head from ear to ear. “Anyways, you seem to have a problem here. I can take you home in my car, you know." I gestured at the blue Ferrari behind me with my keys. Amelia glanced at the car and then back to me, “I'm sorry but I don't need your assistance." Another cab passed by and Amelia quickly tried to hail it but it drove past her like the others. She huffed, her knuckles tightening in frustration. My profile hardened as I closed the distance between us. We both knew that if I left her here then she would be properly drenched in the coming rain storm. A peel of thunder punctuated this reality with a stark reminder. Amelia turned back to see I was only a foot away from her, she looked around as if in search of someone in the shadows. I could tell that she was flustered, most probably worried about what other people would think if they saw her standing that close to her boss. "I'm not sure you're aware but your stubbornness excites me. So if you keep refusing, I keep getting excited,” I shrugged with a smug smile.
