Mavi
The moment we got home, my father slapped me so hard across the face that my head snapped back. I stood frozen, my skin burning and my mind reeling in total disbelief. He had never once raised a hand to me before. Ever since I was little, I had been his most cherished, favorite daughter.
“You are a disgrace to our entire bloodline, Mavi! You dragged my name through the mud before every Alpha in the land!” he roared, his voice shaking with uncontrollable fury.
“What else could we possibly expect from her?” Mayer, my sister fueled our father's anger, her tone thick with venom and triumph. “She must have begged Alpha Magnus to reject her publicly. That was her selfish plan all along, so you would have no choice but to accept Edward.”
Mayer and I had never gotten along. We clashed in every way, and she always started every fight. I could never understand why she burned with such bitter, seething resentment toward me, even though we shared the same parents.
“I was relieved he rejected me, but I never wanted to see you shame you, Father!” I cried out, stung by the utter disgust on his face. “And I never spoke a single word to Alpha Magnus. I had no chance to ask him for anything. I only saw him for the first time tonight. I don't even know what he looks like.”
“That's enough! Silence, both of you!” Father thundered, then fixed me with a gaze so sharp it felt like it would cut right through me. “I have pampered you, spoiled you rotten, given you everything you ever wanted. But I never dreamed you would bring such ruin and shame down on all of us. You want that man Edward? Then go ahead. Get out of this house. Get out of our pack. And do not ever dare set foot here again.”
I felt completely lost, staring at him with tears blurring my vision. I waited for him to soften, to say he was just blinded by anger. But the father who once loved me more than anything was really casting me away without a flicker of regret.
“This is not my entire fault, Dad,” I pleaded, my voice trembling. “Do you remember what he said? He rejected me because he despises our whole family. We must have truly wronged him terribly to make him defy the Moon Goddess?”
Father’s gaze turned cold and hard as stone.
“He believes I killed his parents,” he admitted at last, his voice heavy with fear and desperation. “That is why he burns with such endless hatred. But if you had knelt before him, if you had begged him not to drag you into his revenge, our pack would not be stained with this shame.
"So this is really not my fault," I whispered sofly. Not my entire fault but I would be the one to suffer and be sacrificed.
"Now, every enemy who wants my position will use this to destroy me. I have no choice but to cast you out. I must show them I am no weakling. I will punish anyone, even my own flesh and blood, if they bring harm to this pack. That is the only way to hold my place.”
A crushing pain twisted in my chest until I could barely breathe. The unconditional love I had trusted all my life meant nothing next to his precious title. He was throwing me away just to keep his power.
“What are you waiting for?” Mayer screamed, her eyes blazing with cruel delight. “Get out and never come back!”
Tears burst from my eyes. The agony in my heart felt like it would tear me apart. I walked out the door without begging him to change his mind. I knew him too well. Once he spoke, he never took it back.
I sobbed so hard I could barely see as I drove away from the only home I had known for eighteen years. I was only thankful he had not taken back the car he gave me for my birthday last month.
Right now, there were only two people I could trust, Edward and Santa. They were the only ones who had ever given me comfort. But Santa was far away on vacation. That left only Edward. I drove to his apartment. I will ask him to take me in. I am all alone and nowhere to go.
I walked into his building with eyes swollen and blurred from crying. I did not ring the bell. I knew the passcode to his door. Just as I reached for the keypad, I saw the door was slightly open, blocked by something dark.
I wiped my tears and moved the object aside. It was a woman’s shoe. A cold, sick feeling twisted in my stomach. Why was this here, blocking his door?
Then I heard two voices, breathless and wild with desire.
“Faster, Edward. Go faster,” the woman moaned with full of excitement in her voice.
“Anything for you, babe. I will give you everything you want,” Edward answered, his voice thick with lust. "You're so sweet, Santa."
"Who is sweeter between Mavi and me?" Santa asked, her voice was flirtatious.
"Of course, it's you. Mavi couldn't even compare to you," he answered between his moaned. "If she's not the daughter of an alpha, I would never take a liking to her."
I never thought Edward would think of me like that. Lotlot was right. Edward is not trustworthy. He's a total piece of junk.
Santa laughed for a moment, then moaned and eager cries followed. There was no doubt left about what they were doing.
My hand flew to my mouth to muffle a gasp of horror. It was really Santa who was inside with Edward. My trusted cousin and dearest best friend. Hot rage and crushing heartbreak crashed over me all at once. I shoved the door open and slammed it against the wall with all my strength.
My whole world crumbled to dust at the sight before me. They lay naked together, doing things I had saved only for Edward. The two people I loved and trusted most had betrayed me in the cruelest way possible.
