Chapter 3

It was very easy to spot the house where the party was going on due to all the music and the people, it was pretty crowded and Nina could already feel her palms getting sweaty by how nervous she was. Her strategy was to go in there, sit in a corner somewhere until Yuri decides to take her home. Very smart strategy lol As they walked into the house, she could see people dancing and talking with cups in their hands, God only knows what was actually in these cups. It wasn't juice though that's for sure. Yuri was already talking to a group of friends, dragging Nina by the wrist to introduce her to them. It wasn't as awkward as Nina thought it would be, they were all pretty nice and bit by bit she felt a little relaxed. Half an hour into the party and Nina was already sitting by herself, she didn't mind it though she was used to being alone especially in crowded places. She was just observing people, mainly Yuri and how she was talking and having fun with everyone. She was what people called "the life of the party", and although Nina did wish to have her confidence sometimes, she was never jealous or envious of her. She was often quite content with just watching her let loose and have fun, it made Nina very happy for some reason. As Nina was sitting there, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around only to be met with Chan, the cute guy from college. "Fancy seeing you here", he said with a smirk. "Yeah i didn't really have much of a choice", she replied pointing at Yuri across the room. "So i take it you don't like parties?", Nina just nodded awkwardly. Making small talk with people was definitely not her forte. "I'm still glad you made it though, I've been wanting to talk to you since classes started" Nina was a little taken aback by that, "really? So why haven't you?" "Well you're always coming right on time and leaving right after class is dismissed, and i never really see you on campus. You don't really talk that much either so i was a little skeptical about talking to you", he explained scratching his neck. "Were you scared of me or what?", she giggled as she looked at him. "I do agree with you that i can look pretty scary at times, but I'm just not so good with people and I usually avoid any form of communication with anyone", she said looking back at Yuri. She thought Chan was a nice guy, but she could see in his eyes that being friends was not his intention. Nina has never really dated before, she was asked by many guys pretty frequently but her excuse was that she didn't have time for boys. She thought dating was a big waste of time, plus she never really felt anything for anyone. As she was thinking of a way to let him off without being rude she spotted two stupidly good looking guys who just walked into the room. They were both pretty tall, one of them was slightly shorter, with silver hair, pretty eyes and plump lips, not to mention a killer jawline. The other guy had fluffy black hair and piercing dark eyes. They both looked quite intimidating at first glance but it seemed like the minute they saw their friends they became completely different people, looking very friendly and actually quite cute. As Nina was still watching them closely one of the boys saw her, and it's not a surprise that eye contact between strangers can be very awkward at times. Nina immediately looked away, blushing slightly at being caught staring at him. When she still felt his gaze on her though she quickly got up, excusing herself from Chan and walking out to the backyard. "That was pleasant", was what she thought as she sat down on the stairs and looked up at the sky. She wondered who those two guys were, especially the one who stared back at her. Sitting alone in the quietness was so much more enjoyable to her than that party, and as she was still looking up at the sky she felt a very hairy thing licking her hand. It was a little puppy who looked exactly like a fluff ball. Nina's first impulse was to pat him on the head as he kept snuggling himself into her. "You might just be the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life", she said as she took the puppy in her arms with a soft smile. Before long though she heard a whistle, and the puppy looked sideways as if searching for someone, before running to where the sound was coming from. Nina looked up to where the dog was headed, only to see the guy that stared at her just a few minutes ago standing there, watching her intensely. He kneeled down to pat his dog, still maintaining eye contact with her. Nina felt so exposed under his gaze, she wished he would just look away. "Oh there you are, we've been looking all over for you", she heard a cheerful voice say as the other guy came into view. Once he joined them, she saw the first guy's face break into a wide smile, and a very boxy one at that. How can someone be so intimidating one minute, and then downright adorable the next? The first guy was still staring at Nina but with a smile on his face now, when his friend noticed her there and realised how awkward she must have felt under the first guy's gaze. "Tae stop staring at her you're freaking her out", he mumbled to his friend as he walked closer to Nina. "Sorry about my friend, he doesn't normally stare at people like an absolute freak" He had the softest smile and the softest voice, it was hard not to wanna talk to him. "I'm Jimin ", he said extending his hand for her to take. "And this is Taehyung" As Nina was trying to remember how to form words to answer him she felt the fluff ball yet again snuggle close to her. "Oh and this is yeontan, he seems to like you a lot", he added. "I'm Nina", she said finally shaking his hand, "he's so cute" Nina was usually pretty good at talking back to guys, but right now she felt so awkward and nervous around both of them. This Jimin guy really did seem nice, but his friend was still staring at her. "Tae stop being annoying", Jimin said as he gave him a quick slap on the shoulder. He could clearly tell that she was getting uncomfortable from how he was staring at her. "Yah don't call me annoying", he said to his friend. His voice was very deep, which only added to Nina's nervousness. But the minute he addressed her with "sorry I didn't mean to freak you out", she felt herself relax. "Why are you out here all alone?", Jimin asked with his hands in his pocket. "I'm not a very party person", she simply shrugged still playing with the cute puppy. Jimin chuckled at that, " strange that you're here then". His chuckle sounded so cute Nina couldn't help smiling as she answered him, "my friend dragged me here by force" Taehyung smiled, "same here". Nina was surprised by that, he didn't strike her as a guy who wouldn't like parties. "Oh please quit being so dramatic", Jimin snorted at him crossing his arms, "You know you wanted to come anyway" The two of them glared at each other as they started arguing in a very childish manner, Nina couldn't help laughing. "What the hell is taking you guys so long?", they all heard a voice yell at them from the house. They looked back to see what Nina thought was a very angry looking guy. He was definitely good looking, but right now it was hard to not be slightly scared of him. When he noticed Nina though his expression softened, and she could even see a slight smile forming on his face. "Yoongi hyung, it's rude to yell at strangers", Jimin said with a slight smirk. Yoongi glared at him as he walked towards them, his keys dangling in his hands. "Excuse my yelling, that was not intentional", he said calmly. "But these brats were taking too long to get back inside" "Oh yeah I forgot we need to get going", Jimin said as he looked at his phone to check the time. As Yoongi was introducing himself to Nina, Taehyung grabbed Jimin by the arm, whispering something in his ear. Jimin raised an eyebrow at him suspiciously before finally nodding, "would you like to join us?" Jimin asked Nina. "We're gonna go grab something to eat then go to the movies with some friends" Nina did not expect that type of offer at all, and was clearly hesitant about her reply. "You don't have to agree of course, it would be a shame though to leave you out here all alone", Yoongi added with a very gummy-like smile. Nina normally would say no, but for some reason she felt very comfortable now around all three of them, and since she had nothing better to do it would only be stupid to say no. "Sure why not", she said getting up with the puppy still in her arms. Taehyung smiled widely as they all walked to the car, Jimin looking at him smugly as he noticed how his best friend was very into Nina. Yoongi sat up front, with Jimin in the passenger seat, as Nina and Taehyung sat in the back with Yeontan. Nina quickly texted Yuri to inform her about leaving the party and that she would be back home later tonight, as the car drove away.
