So after he pulled her back to sit, I turned to Julian. “Well… now that I’ve said everything there is to say, can I go now? I don’t know about you, but I’m starving.”
He gave small nod.
I flashed him a grin and jumped to my feet. “Thanks, brother.”
I had barely taken a step forward when my mother’s voice rang out.
“Wait.”
I had to stop myself from groaning out loud. Honestly, her voice was starting to get a little irritating.
After a slow, calming breath, I turned with a tiny smile. “Yes, Mom?”
“I heard you didn’t sleep in your room after you returned last night. You stayed in the guest room instead. What’s that about?”
She just had to ask, didn't she?
