The Kench Tower, the most luxurious structure built by the Kardiem family, stood as a landmark in Galemore State.
Today was the engagement party of the eldest son of the Kardiem family, Calaen.
The event was a grand affair, attracting prominent figures from all walks of life.
As a globally renowned conglomerate, the Kardiem family's affairs were always under the public eye.
"Shurna, make sure you perform well today. It wasn't easy for me to establish a connection with the Kardiem family," Lorelei whispered to Shurna.
"But... are you sure Buper wouldn't mind?"
Shurna's eyes were filled with hesitation. Buper and Nelia were finally divorced.
She thought her days of being a mistress were over. But now...
Her first mission was actually to seduce a director of Kardiem Group!
"Dear, don't worry," Lorelei reassured her.
"This is all for Bush Corporation's future. He'll understand. If this works out, you'll be the hero of our family and Buper's only wife!"

In the dressing room, Nelia stood before the mirror in a stunning gown that accentuated her curves.
Her makeup was light, enhancing her fresh, elegant beauty with a hint of sweetness.
Linda's eyes sparkled as she gazed at Nelia.
"Darling, you look absolutely stunning!"
She added, "Even if it's just a fake marriage, I don't want to let you go to that jerk."
Nelia shook her head helplessly. "You sure love to talk."
Beside them, Calaen couldn't hide his admiration.
"I must say, darling, why don't we make this pretend marriage real?"
Slowly, he walked up behind Nelia, wrapping her waist, and was about to kiss her neck.
But a sharp pain suddenly shot through his hand and foot.
"Mr. Kardiem, please behave yourself," Nelia's voice was cold but firm.
Unfazed by her warning, Calaen pushed through the pain, leaning in to kiss her anyway.
However, before he could, Nelia spun around and evaded him.
"You're quick."
Calaen's face lit up with praise.
"Not bad yourself."
Nelia recalled how quickly he had reacted.
Any ordinary person would have been pinned down by now, but Calaen was still standing.
"Maybe reconsider my proposal?" Calaen grinned.
"I'll treat you like a princess."
"Goodbye," Nelia responded, already beginning to slip off her gown.
"Wait! Please don't!"
Calaen's voice cracked, his face now filled with panic.
"Can we just take a break from all this drama?"
Nelia scoffed as she walked past him, with Linda following suit, giving Calaen a glare.
"Let's go, girl. Tonight, we're going to steal the show!"
As they left, Calaen muttered to himself, his resolve hardening.
"This time, I won't let you slip away."

The moment Nelia entered the grand hall, she noticed two women, their gazes wide with disbelief.
"What the hell are you doing here?"
Lorelei's voice was filled with rage as she gaped at Nelia.
"Ha, what? Are you the only one allowed here? An old hag and a shameless little mistress? You make the perfect pair!" Nelia shot back with venom.
Shurna was furious.
"Mistress? Don't make me laugh. Buper already dumped you!" she hissed, glaring at Nelia.
"I'm his fiancée now."
Nelia sneered. "Once a mistress, always a mistress. Buper is nothing but a bag of trash that I tossed away. Since you like him that much, feel free to have it. You two can rot together now."
Shurna's eyes burned with hostility.
"Mind your own business. You know, everyone here needs an invitation! Where's yours? I bet you don't have one."
Nelia casually shrugged. "Oh, you're right. I don't have one."
Shurna's face lit up with delight at Nelia's blunt admission.
She thought she could just waltz in here?
This place was the Kardiem family's domain!"
"Babe!"
Shurna turned to call out to someone behind her.
Nelia initially thought it was Buper, but could he really be walking around after being shot?
To her surprise, an elderly man with a large belly and graying hair came into view.
Linda couldn't hold back her laughter.
"Well, well, darling, your taste is really going downhill. This man is old enough to be your dad!"
While laughing, she pressed a hand against her chest, trying to calm herself down.
The elderly man calmly turned his gaze to Linda.
"Ms. Kolmann, please don't belittle my date. At least she knows how to choose her companions well."
"And as for age, love knows no bounds," he added with a smile.
"That's right, darling!"
Shurna beamed, planting a kiss on the old man's bearded face.
The whole scene was so grotesque that even Nelia couldn't suppress her revulsion. Linda felt similarly.
Apparently, Lorelei had sold Shurna's dignity, but she still believed that Lorelei was doing this for her good.
Was Shurna foolish enough to believe she could latch onto the Bush Corporation?
"By the way, darling, today's the big day for Mr. Kardiem," Shurna cooed.
"Yet this woman, without an invitation, is dressed to the nines. What's her game?"
The old man frowned.
"Lady, today is a momentous occasion for the Kardiem Group. Even though you're Ms. Kolmann's friend, I must insist that you refrain from any inappropriate behavior. You're not the star of this evening."
"So? What are you trying to say?"
Nelia glanced at the old man with disdain and then shifted her gaze elsewhere.
The way Shurna clung to this old man with a shy smile was too much for her.
"Well, if you don't have an invitation, then you should leave immediately!"
Nelia's indifferent attitude irritated the old man.
"What if I refuse?" Nelia asked.
"As one of Kardiem's supervisors, I could easily have you removed..."
"You want to do what?"
A deep, magnetic voice interrupted from behind.
"Oh, Mr. Kardiem, it's you. This lady here doesn't have an invitation. She's not worth your attention."
The old man greeted him with a smile, trying to flatter him.
But what Calaen said next made him shudder in fear, hoping he could tear Shurna up on the spot.
"Invitation? There's no need," Calaen said firmly, his gaze icy.
"Because she is my fiancée."
