Summer P.O.V. I was laying on a pebbly beach, the water reaching up to my hips. A small breeze flowing over me lightly flicking my hair. I was looking up at the sky, the smell of rain in the air. It was starting to get dark, the stars were just coming out. I tried to move, I tried to sit up. I was able to move my arms, but the burning was still there. I'm going to have to just power through it even if it hurts. I close my eyes as I prepare myself to sit up. There's a body! She's here! I open my eyes and there's big brown eyes right in my face. This blonde freckled faced girl is pulling me further out of water. I open my mouth to speak. Please save your strength till we get you to the hospital, my name is Tara Jones and I'm going to help you. As she is saying this three men run up to us with a board. I wasn't sure what it was, but I noticed they were all naked. I coughed, Why are you naked? They giggled and Tara just shook her head, but they continued to move me on top of the board. They lifted the board up and carried me away in complete silence. It wasn't long before I started seeing little houses scattered all round, it was too dark to really see them just the outline. They walked a little further and I could see a very large house, and a large business type building. They were almost to the business when the lights came on, I was blinded for a moment. An older man in a white lab coat was standing in the doorway. What is the extent of the trauma! How many? Tara addressed him. Just one Dr. Franks, but we are unsure of the extent of the damage. No open fractures that we could see or blood. A lady in scrubs pushed a gurney to the doorway next to the Dr. Dr. Franks is an older gentleman, very slim and tall. He has gold framed glasses, light almost white grey hair, and light blue eyes. His face is clean shaven and he is starting to wrinkle around his eyes and forehead. The men and Tara lifted the board up even with the gurney and slid me over on the gurney. The nurse Jana I read her name tag. Ok thank you scouts for bringing her in, now get some pants on! I heard Dr. Franks holler as nurse Jana pushed me down the hallway. It smells like disinfectant, cleaner and peaches. The walls are white with blue trim work, the floors are white tile with silver arrows that serve as directional markers. Jana is now staring at me very hard, my head is pounding. Hello? I was able to muster out. She is an older woman with dark brown hair pulled back into a high ponytail, she has a soft smell of peaches. She has small crows feet starting around her dark brown eyes. She is making a face like she's in deep thought. Her light baby blue scrubs are ironed and neat. Hello, I'm Jana. I'm a nurse here at this hospital. Do you know what your name is? Are you in any pain? She is still staring at me very hard, like she's studying me. It wasn't until now I realized that I am in some pain. Um… My name is Summer Anderson, my legs and arm hurts. My mom, Vivan, works at the County Hospital. Can we please call her? Jana is still studying my face, she raises an eyebrow. Are you sure that is your name? I tilt my head to the side. Why would she ask if I was sure? Why would I lie about my name? It's my legal name, yes. I was adopted. Is that what you mean? I felt my voice shake, my head feels like pressure is building up. I'm getting nervous, Vivan doesn't know where I am, I'm hurt and I don't know where I am. I heard a small whisper. Calm down and breathe. I quickly look around but I see no one. Who said that? I ask Jana. Her facial expression completely changes. It's much softer now, she just smiles at me. Dr. Franks walks into the room with Tara, the smell of marshmallows and apples fills the air as they swing the door open. Jana looks over at Dr. Franks and they both nod at each other. Summer, what do you know about your birth parents? Dr. Franks asked. Jana is now examining my arms and legs, taking my vitals, and looking me over for more injuries. Nothing, other than they passed away when I was three, what is going on? Dr. Franks just nodded and smiled. Then I believe I have very exciting news for you. Vivans P.O.V. I stretched out across the black leather couch, smelling my freshly brewed coffee. I just got back home from taking Summer to school, something I haven't been able to do in a very long time. My scrubs make me slide on leather as I sit myself up right. Huh... It's been so long since I’ve been home and able to relax. ***Ring*** ***Ring*** Hmm... I don't know this number. Hello? I answered. Hello, Vivan, this is Mr. Drone. Oh? Hello Mr. Drone. There is a lot we need to discuss, are you home? Um? I… um. Yes I am home. I will be there in a moment. The phone clicked. That was really strange, why would he come over? I look at the time it's not even 8:30am, surely Summer hasn't gotten into trouble. ***KNOCK KNOCK*** That was very quick. I stand up and turn to walk to the door, and there's a man standing inside the foyer. He's fairly tall, heavy in the mid section, dark hair that is starting to grey. Apologies for the intrusion, but this is very important. Vivan flustered by the sudden appearance of a stranger in her home. Who are you! I felt the panic escape in my voice. The stranger held his hands up with palms exposed. I mean no harm, I am Mr. Drone. We spoke on the phone, I told you I would be here in a moment. He said this slowly and soft, stepping back away from me. I was a friend of Danny's. I c**k my head to the side, I really look him over. He is wearing a grey suit that was poorly tailored around his middle, his beard grey, very thick glasses. He does not appear to be a threat to me, and he was a friend of Danny's. What did Danny tell you about his life before he met you? Mr. Drone P.O.V. ***BEEP BEEP BEEP*** Ugh… It's almost over. I grunt to myself. I roll to my side and turn off the alarm. I stretch my body yawning, taking in the smell of vanilla and old books. I quickly get up from my queen sized bed, I wish I could just continue to lay here naked on my light grey satin sheets, taking in the sweet smell of vanilla. I love how silky soft and cool it feels against me. I hurry through my morning routine of showering, drying off, combing my beard, brushing my teeth, and deodorant. I walk over to my closet, this is one of the things I hate the most about my day. I put my grey suit on and walk over to the mirror. I look over my body for a moment, my suit is tailored perfectly to me. I place my hand over my stomach and use my magic to enlarge it, I push my white button down shirt to just about its limit and stop. I wave my hand over my face and head, my dark black hair greys, my dark beard turns to grey, and my face wrinkles a bit around my eyes. I do one final check in the mirror, and I snap my fingers. I'm now standing in my classroom in front of my podium, an overweight, middle aged, white man who suffers from nearsightedness. Mmm. I flick my hand and my glasses appear in my hand. I put my glasses on and walk over to my desk so that I can focus and enchant the books. I focus my energy and reinforce the magic on the books in my classroom, in the library, and the few I have hidden in the ceiling throughout the building. It's now 7:30am. I have the books ready to absorb the Alphas energy, and I think today I will send it to Peru to keep the low life's busy. It's been getting more difficult to mask the young Alphas energy. She had an outburst of anger when she and the student Amber had a loud verbal disagreement. I despise Amber, she is from a family of dark magic. I've kept a close eye on her as well as Summer. Amber is a tall dark haired girl at first glance, but she, like myself, is using magic to change her appearance. Summer's outburst of anger filled the books very quickly and she sent a strong energy surge out. I hope I was able to mask it with my magic but I can't be sure. I wrote to her father that day like I do most days, giving him little updates on her life and progression of power. I've been able to suppress most of her wolf abilities and magic with the books absorbing her energy. I've been very lucky that Summer is an even tempered child, she has had very few emotional outbursts. I look up from my desk to see students wondering about taking their seats. I start checking names off on my check in sheet, most of the students are in their seats by 7:50am. Summer and Amber haven't arrived yet. I gather my papers and walk over to the podium. Good morning class, turn your books to page 179. Read the passage and then answer the questions. I would also like a brief essay over it. I feel a ping of energy, it must be Summer. Her energy level today is higher than ever, today is also her 18th birthday and of course she is late. Ugh.. She needs to get closer to these books to hide her or years of my work masking her will be ruined. Splat. All I can see with my left eye is white, I remove my glasses and flick the spit wad off of them. Zack that's a week's worth of detention and if there were more days left in school it would be more. Zack is a typical class clown just looking for attention. A slim, dark haired boy who merely wants to be noticed. The ping is getting stronger, Summer walks in and just flops into her chair, with her book bag on her desk. I don't care if it is your birthday or if you woke up hearing voices in your head! Class starts at 7:50am sharp everyday Summer Anderson! I boomed at her. I hate when they flop in their chairs. She shot up from her seat, causing her book bag to fall to the floor. She glared at me, her eyes filled with anger, her energy just surging off of her. I held my hand up. Apologies dear child, go ahead and step out in the hallway and gather yourself. Walk the hallway if you need to. I know emotions are hard sometimes, I shouldn't have pushed today. She looked at me almost with shock and a bit of confusion. She quickly bent over, grabbed her bag from the floor and marched out the classroom into the hallway. I turn my attention back to the classroom, all the students are looking at me as if I’d grown a second head. I believe you have a lot of work to be doing instead of gocking, unless the idea of summer school sounds good to you! The sound of books and papers rusling fills the room. They all avert their eyes from me. I walk over to Summers desk, I see her little green and blue coin bag laying on the floor. I pick it up and start toward the door when Amber comes walking in. She has this sneaky grin on her face like she has gotten away with murder. Why are you late to class? She looks me dead in the face and whispers so only I can hear her. Sometimes it takes a minute to cast a proper barrier spell. I felt my entire body stiffen, and flick my hand so that my ink quill will start writing to Luke, and quickly send my message to him. I turn my full attention back to Amber. What are you up to Amber, take the barrier down now. She giggles and walks away taking her seat, still just beaming at me. I turn toward the door. I place my hand on the invisible barrier she has put up and move my hand into a fist and quickly destroy her barrier. I hear Amber gasp as I walk out into the hallway. I look down the hall and I see Summers book bag laying on the floor. I ran over to the bag, books and papers spilling out from it. Summer! I scream out, without answer. I look up to see principal Herrington running toward me. Who was that? Who did they take! He shouted.
