“It was nice while the facade lasted,” Jasmine said to Shawn on the porch of her mansion.
He stared at her with mixed emotions and was about to leave when she held him back, “Here,” she handed him a key and a note.
“What for?” he spat out angrily.
“An apartment I got for you,” she started, “I planned to give it to you on your birthday, but you can think of it as an early birthday gift. You'll receive an alert later on today. Take it a—”
He cut her off in annoyance, “An early birthday gift,” he stated. She sighed and nodded. He scoffed, “Thanks,” he said venomously before making his way toward the car without giving her as much as a second glance.
“You still haven't explained what happened between you two to me,” His mother reminded him with a frown etched on her face.
