“Behr, have you secured the transport?” she called.
“It is locked down,” he said from behind her.
Raia nodded and returned to her review of the pre-flight checklist. During the three hours since she had woken up, they had been busy preparing for their departure. They had talked little about the reason. They didn’t need to.
“Chummy, are you and Pi ready?” she called.
Chummy ran into the cockpit and looked up at her. Pi saying bye-bye.
“Who is she saying bye-bye to?” she asked.
Ghost outside, Chummy answered.
Raia frowned. She shook her head and rose from her seat. She paused when Behr reached out and wrapped his hand around her wrist.
“Is everything alright?” he inquired.
“Yeah, I need to do a visual. I’ll be back in a few minutes,” she said.
He released her wrist, and she exited
