Skylar POV
Can this day get any worse?
First my evil stepmother made me clean the entire house all over again. Knowing I had an interview in Starbucks at 9am.
It's like she's purposely is there to sabotage my life as if it wasn't enough stealing Dad from Mom but stealing him from me as well.
Can't I just get a break, I'm pretty sure I won't be getting a call back from Starbucks.
That was my chance to pay my tuition and get out of my family's house.
The only plus was bumping into this beautiful woman she's gave me a dominant vibes but with my luck it will never work out.
The smell of something burning snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Sh*t!!!" I burned the pasta....who burns pasta? "Me. That's who."
"Talking to yourself now?
Might as well no one will ever want to be around you anyway. Just look at you."
My stepmother started her insults once again.
"What cat got your tongue?
Didn't you told me yesterday that you can't wait to get a job so you won't have to live here anymore?
Where's your little job? Huh?"
I sighed and ignored hoping eventually she'll leave me alone.
"That pasta is coming out of your allowance."
"What allowance?" I stopped what I was doing and looked at her.
She looked like dear caught in headlights.
"Ummm...... nothing stupid girl just clean this mess up now."
She got up and walked out the kitchen as though it was on fire.
I wonder what that is about anyway... let me head to the store cause that was the last bit of the pasta.
"Sandra..." I called out to my step monster.
"What????"
"I'm heading to the store I'm taking your card, do you need anything?"
"No just don't spend to much and hurry back the food won't cook itself and my husband will be here by 8pm"
You'd think that it wasn't MY father she was referring to but I'm used to it.
One day I'll get away from this house and I'm never coming back.
Dijah POV
Finally the twin got the girl's information,
Skylar Lewis,
20,
One parent deceased the other a workaholic,
Stepmother unemployed,
College student,
Credit score etc.
I'm guessing the stepmother is another gold digger let's see if she took after her.
She's at a Target let's test her, I smirked getting into black widow and driving over there.
Ironically she's at a Target close to us so it won't take long before I get there.
As I pull up on saw her rushing to a car, at least I think it's her she's so tiny it's adorable.
Shaking away my thoughts I watched as she grabs something from the car and head back inside.
I followed her making sure to lock my baby, as I entered I saw her on one knee talking to a crying toddler.
I walked closer so I can here there conversation,
"You can have my candy but only if you be a nice little girl for your momma. Ok?"
The child nods smiling and gladly accepts the candy.
"Thank you so much may God bless you."
The middle age woman said.
"No problem, it's my pleasure and same to you. Enjoy your day."
She walked away the smile never moving off her face.
I walked behind her observing her every move, she constantly checks her phone after she puts a item in her trolley.
I'm assuming she's budgeting her stuff, smart.
I know her father is in dept thanks to that woman he married, stupid man.
But thanks to them they're making this easier for me.
I walked up in front of her dropping my wallet "accidentally".
"Excuse me Mr you drop your wallet." I paused hearing her voice up close it sounds as though her words are gliding off her tongue.
Urghhh down girl back to the plan.
I turned around raising a brow.
Her eyes widened, "Oh my God I'm so sorry, from the back you look like a....."
She went on rambling and I zoned out on how adorable she looks when she nervous.
"It's ok beautiful and thank you." I took it from her hands.
"Here take this,I usually don't get my wallet back after I lost it." Handing her a hundred dollar bill.
"Oh no, it's ok."
She smiled and I had to return it, her smile is contagious.
"I won't feel comfortable if you don't take it."
"And I won't feel comfortable taking your money for being merely kind."
The smile was long gone and she looked almost insulted.
"No really I insist."
"Ok. Since you insist on giving away your money, there's a tip jar that goes to the children's hospital at the cashiers put it there. Enjoy your day."
She walked off and I fight the urge to grab her back and find out who's she's speaking too.
I watched as she angrily walked off, aside from her attitude I like her.
I walked back to Black widow getting in waiting for her to exit. When she does she's still mumbling to herself and packing her groceries.
I guessed I really pissed her off, that makes me smile I'll enjoy this.
I waited till she drove off calling back the twin,
"Mike, Jason do we still have an opening for a secretary for the b**m club?"
"Yes...."
"Okay good, the girl I had you looked up, I need her hired like yesterday."
"Got it Boss, anything else on this lovely day?"
I smiled at that, "Actually yes, Happy birthday jerks!"
"Awwwww you remembered how sweet of you?"
I could literally see Jason rolling his eyes and the only way I knew it was him cause he's the only one that will talk to me like that.
I laughed, "Open your door d**k head."
I heard the sound of feet scrambling then the door opening, he does this every year.
I moved the phone from by my ears just in time to hear the most terrifying scream that only Jason can make.
I laughed again, "I'm guessing you like your present."
"OMG he's sooooooo cuuute!" He then clears his throat.
"I mean yeah I like it, it's aight"
I smiled at that, "What will you name him?"
"Sheba?"
"He's a boy."
"Fine then Simba"
I laughed once again he's so extra.
"And what about me?" Mike said
"There should be a envelope in the dog basket under his blanket."
I heard shuffling, "A cheque?"
"Yes, every year I get you something you complain about it for days, so I thought it would be wiser to give you $5000 to get what you want instead."
I heard sniffing, "Y...you.. you know me so well."
"Mikey are you crying?"
"No, I never cry." He then blow his nose.
I laughed, "I love you guys have a wonderful day and also get what I asked earlier done."
"Bye pumpkin" they said in union.
I smiled at the nickname the have called me since I was 10.
I hang up to see her slam her trunk and got in the car.
It's cute that even when she's angry she took the time to carry back the trolley.
This is going to be interesting, I smirked to myself, starting my car to go home and tell my wife the news.
