Unrequited Symphony

255 Words
Stuck in a dance where I can't compete, Her eyes, they wander to boys I can't be, I try to hide my feelings, bury them like scars, But each step I take, I'm falling too far. And I'll keep singing this unrequited symphony, Knowing that my heart will never be her melody, But in my dreams, we dance under twilight's gleam, Even though she can't love me, I hold on to the fantasies. Her laughter cascades like a sweet melody, But I'm just a silent instrument, longing to be seen, When she twirls with him, their love in perfect time, While my love for her remains locked in rhyme, And I'll keep singing this unrequited symphony, Knowing that my heart will never be her melody, But in my dreams, we dance under twilight's gleam, Even though she can't love me, I hold on to the fantasies. Oh, can't she see the longing in my eyes, Or does it get lost amidst the stage's lies? But I won't give up this wistful serenade, Though her love is reserved for a different parade. And I'll keep singing this unrequited symphony, Knowing that my heart will never be her melody, But in my dreams, we dance under twilight's gleam, Even though she can't love me, I hold on to the fantasies I'll etch this love into songs that float on breeze, Hoping that someday she'll hear my heart's pleas, For even if our love's a tale that can't be, I'll keep singing, believing love will set me free
