2. The test.

I reach for the diamond and wonder how this thing actually sticks in her fur. As soon as my finger touches the diamond I feel a cold breeze around me and suddenly I feel very tired.

I close my eyes and let the cold breeze calm my skin. Somehow I don't feel scared as the coolness calms my skin and the wind making a calming kind of howling sound.

I open my eyes and look right inside the two blue ones of the impressive wolf in front of me. As I look in to her eyes, I can feel myself drifting away again.

But this time it feels different and it feels like I am dreaming while being awake.

I open my eyes again and look around to see myself standing inside a large field.

There are flowers and the grass is green but I see no one. "So now that we're alone, we can talk" I jump up to the sound behind me, and I face the same wolf again. "it's ok, I cannot harm you in here. This is a save place." she speaks trough the link as she slowly walks away from me she turns and signs for me to follow her.

"I'll introduce myself first. You can call me James, considering you're already family.. I'm not surprised my i***t brothers didn't tell you about me." she smiles friendly for the first time "I'm not the royal family star model member" another smile appears on the wolf's face, however this time showing a little pain.

"I am what they call the Royal Procter. And you've probably never heard of me. I've been the protector for about 25 years now because the last protector, our aunt, died and they needed me. I hadn't finished my training yet however." I look at the grass while we keep walking. I wonder where we're going. "maybe you've read a few books about the Procter during the first war." and I indeed recall I've read something about that.

"yes I did" I answer her for the first time since I've been here.

"Good! Then you maybe also know, I've been selected as the protector by The goddess herself. Just like all the Royal Procters before me, I am a sibling off the king and have been chosen by the Goddes to protect my family. The diamond that transported us here was given by the goddess. She likes to look after her children. Being the protector I've given some special abilities and maybe someday I'll show you those."  she smiles again and stops walking. I look at the wolf her face as the nods me to turn around.

And there she is. The goddess herself. I don't know how I know, but I know.

And she looks exactly like I expected.

She is a beautiful women with a long white dress and her long blond hair falls naturally along her shoulders. I take a deep bow towards our goddess as I wonder why I've been taking here and why I deserve this kind of privilege.

The goddess smiles at me and brings her hands toward my cheeks. "You have been very brave Ellie. I've seen what happend and I am so sorry for having you go through al what you did."  she smiled down at me.

As she let go of my cheek she motioned me to get up on my feet again. "And I am also sorry I've had to send James to get you here." she looked at the wolf en gave her a loving stroke trough her fur.

"Thank you my child. I know you tried your best to take it easy" she chuckled while she turned to me again.

"You see Ellie, I chose you to be Reagan his mate for a reason. And you've already shown me I've made the right decision. Now I might need you and your strength again in the future. But for now I am happy. I needed to see you and tell you myself, that you can now focus on your future as a princess. However..." she turned towards the wolf again and looked at us both

"James might need you someday and I would like to ask you if you want to be there for her to."  The wolf looked even more surprised then I did. I just nodded, unable to speak to this amazing creature whom we owe everything.

The goddess disappeared just as sudden as she arrived and the wolf still looked shocked at the spot where the goddess just stood.

"James?" I asked.

"Yeah?" she answered trough the link again.

"Was this the test? And did I pass?

"Apparently" she answered again as she shook her head to regain herself.

I felt myself falling asleep again and when I opened my eyes after a few seconds, I'm back in de field next to the tree I was tied up to before this so called test took place. The wolf backed away slowly as I saw Reagan running towards me with an relieved look in his eyes. His arms are around my waist before I can even blink again and he lifts me up in de air.

"So, how was it?" his voice sounds surprisingly calm "did the Goddess like you?"

"I think so." I answered while staring at the wolf while she walks away towards the castle. "So when where you going to tell me you have sister exactly?" I asked my mate firmly, showing my displeasure with a stern look. He chuckles as his hand goes up to his hair "I couldn't prepare you for this, even I have to follow the rules of the Goddess." he smiled nervously.

"Let's just go inside and try to introduce me properly will you?" and he nodded
