Overflowing Love

Ethan's POV Though spring had just begun, the night air remained chilling to the bone, a lingering whisper of winter’s touch. At the dinner table, Alissa sat across from me, absently poking at the steak on her plate with her fork. She hadn’t touched a bite of her food. Her pale complexion and distant gaze gnawed at my mind. Was she still feeling unwell because of what happened this morning? The image of the bloodstain flashed through my thoughts, unbidden. My chest tightened. Without a word, I extended my fork onto her plate, cutting the steak into smaller pieces. She needed to eat—to regain her strength. Seeing her like this, fragile and withdrawn, made me sick with worry. Alissa’s head snapped up at my actions, her brows knitting together in confusion. Her gaze held a silent question, a mixture of surprise and irritation. I ignored her glare and continued cutting until the task was done. Then, as if nothing had happened, I calmly returned to my own meal. “What are you doing, Ethan? Alissa isn’t a child. She can cut her own steak, for goodness’ sake,” my mother, Avery, chided, tugging at my sleeve. Her lips pressed into a thin line, her disapproval evident. I met her gaze briefly before lowering my head, choosing silence. There was no way I could tell her the truth—that I loved Alissa, that she was my fated mate, the one I was destined to protect and cherish. “You’re acting very strange today, Ethan.” Mother pressed on, her tone laced with curiosity and suspicion. Before the conversation could spiral further, the sound of the front door unlocking echoed through the house. Alissa’s father, Max—the Alpha of the Silver Oak Pack—entered, his presence commanding as always. He had left early in the morning to handle a financial crisis at his company. “Alpha,” my mother greeted him, rising swiftly to plant a kiss on his cheek. “Why are you so late? We’re almost done with dinner!” Max smiled tiredly, loosening his tie. “There was an issue in the office, but it’s resolved now. What’s for dinner?” His gaze fell on the table, lighting up at the sight of the spread. “All my favorites! And Ethan’s too.” Mother, ever the gracious Luna, hurried to fill a plate for him. “Steak, mashed potatoes, braised pork ribs… You must be starving.” Max sat down, his sharp eyes observing the room. “Ethan, eat more. This is a critical period for you. The stronger you are, the safer our pack will be.” “Yes, Alpha,” I replied quietly, though my appetite had long vanished. I stared at the rib he placed in my bowl but didn’t touch it. “How did your meeting with the other packs go?” Max asked, cutting into his steak. “They said the results will be out next week.” “You’ve done a brilliant job. Keep at it, and we’ll secure a solid partnership,” Max praised, pride evident in his tone. Mother beamed, interjecting, “He’s taking after you, Alpha. The Lunas I spoke with said they were impressed with our boy. He’s going to make us proud.” Max nodded approvingly. “Work hard, Ethan. If you close this deal, I’ll reward you. Name your price.” Before I could respond, Alissa abruptly stood, the screech of her chair cutting through the room like a knife. “I’m done.” “If you’re done, leave quietly. Don’t drag the chair like that,” Max admonished. Alissa paused, then deliberately dragged the chair again, the grating sound filling the silence. “I’ll be more careful next time.” “You—!” Max slammed his hand on the table, rising to his feet. His temper flared, and tension thickened the air. I couldn’t let this escalate. “Alpha, I want money,” I blurted, redirecting his attention. All eyes turned to me. “Ten grand,” I continued. “If I secure the deal, that’s what I want.” Mother’s eyes widened. “Ten grand? What for?” “Investment.” I kept my tone steady, projecting confidence. “I want to try investing. If I succeed, I want another ten grand for the next round.” Max scratched his head, weighing my request. “Investing isn’t a bad idea, but… you’re just starting out.” “If I can secure this partnership, it proves I’m capable. Consider it an early lesson in managing finances,” I reasoned. Mother chimed in, “Let him do it, Max. Our boy’s smart and driven. He’s nothing like those spoiled brats from other packs. He deserves this chance.” Max sighed, relenting. “Fine. But if you lose, tell me immediately. No debts.” “Thank you, Alpha.” Alissa waited until the conversation ended before retreating to her room. I set down my fork and followed her. Our rooms are close enough that my actions wouldn’t raise suspicion. When she opened her door again, I saw the sheets in her arms. Her bloodstains from our first s*x earlier. “Let me wash them,” I offered softly. She stepped back, clutching the sheets tighter. “No need. Someone like you wouldn’t know how.” She pushed past me, heading for the laundry room. I trailed behind, unable to tear my gaze away from her. As she loaded the washing machine, she turned, her eyes flashing. “Why are you following me like a leech?” The spotlight from across the street cast fleeting shadows, illuminating the vulnerability in her expression. “It’s for you,” I said, holding out a notebook. “I compiled notes you might need. Lecturing a lesson is not going to be easy. But I believe you can handle it well.” Alissa took it, covering her face. Her shoulders trembled, and my chest ached with the need to comfort her. I placed a hand on her shoulder, only for her to slap it away. “Get lost!” “Why are you angry?” “Because you disgust me!” Tears streamed down her face, her defiance crumbling. I pulled her into my arms, ignoring her struggles until she finally collapsed against me, sobbing. “You overheard my mother earlier, didn’t you?” I whispered. She said nothing. “It’s okay. I’m here. And I won’t let them hurt you again.” “That’s the problem,” she murmured. “You being here is the problem.” I cupped her face, gently wiping her tears. “Then let me make it right. Focus on your job. Leave the rest to me.” Alissa was reluctant to look me in the eye, “Did you ask for money… for me?” “Partly. The rest is for real investment. I wanted to start a little business myself.” She lowered her gaze, shuffling her feet. I stroked her hair, placing a kiss on top of it. I hadn’t told Alissa that I had already mapped out our future. The moment I have my own little start-up business, I would take her away from this house, this pack. I would use my own strength to give her a real home — one she truly deserved. In the past, I had never entertained such thoughts. I had simply waited, hoping that time would gradually erase my feelings for Alissa. But I underestimated the beast in my heart. I underestimate the power of destiny and fate. When I put my lips on Alissa’s, my d**k into her wet p***y and gave the sweetest love to her, my overflowing desire and love almost burnt my entire heart. I vowed silently in my heart that no one could take her away from me anymore. Not now. Not ever.
