Successful Test

Nine POV

Leah was still explaining how she got lost, when she was heading to the Alpha's office.

I walked her there since I've been in the mansion before.

She was talking way too much and most of all, she was clinging to my right hand. What happens when she discovers I'm a girl?

"We've arrived, miss" I gently took my hand away from hers.

"You didn't tell me your name" she blushed.

"You don't need to know my name, miss. I'm sure the Alpha is inside already..."

"Why are you here Leah?"

We heard his voice from behind. He was standing, wearing a sky blue skirt, his beautiful chest was exposed, with a black trousers. His long black hair fell at the side of his face. Alpha Mason was the definition of beauty. Alex was right behind him.

Leah left my side and walked towards the Alpha. She clinged to him and Mason frowned. He hated physical touch.

"We'll get married soon Mason, I'm here to see my fiancé"

Mason broke their contact and brushed her off.

"Leah, I'm busy. Leave now"

"But, I left the temple to see you. Do you know how far it is?" she pouted her lips.

"Alex, take her away. Make sure the driver drops her off at the temple"

"Yes, Alpha" Alex obeyed and dragged her away from there. I shook my head in disappointment.

"Have you been given your task?" He asked.

I nodded my head.

"You were asked to kill me or Alex?"

"Alex" I replied.

"Good luck" he said and walked to the door. I took a step, wanting to leave but his voice stopped me.

"This may also be the last time I'll see you. If you fail, you'll die by Alex's hand" he said and entered his office, shutting his door.

Alex? There's no way I'll fail to murder him.

What I remembered from the first life, I'll use it to my advantage.

The sun was down and the moon was up. I have three hours to murder Alex. I have to use any way and what I picked from Damian's office was poison. I already gave him a paralytic poison earlier today but it's not enough to kill him. I roughly tied my hair and slipped the poison, with needles into my leather bag.

I left my room and ran to his room. He was the beta, so I'm sure his chamber was not far from the Alpha's. The moon was really bright, but not full. I arrived at his window, it was widely open. A smirk appeared on my face. His bed was padded but, he's not there. I'm not going to be fooled by that. I stepped into the room and walked round.

He couldn't have gone far. If he's not in his room, he would be in Alpha Mason's room. I immediately went there and barged into the room.

There he was! On the floor, his leg was weak and he can't move.

"What did you f*****g do to me?" He asked, with a frown on his face. I couldn't talk because half of my face was covered. I'm an acting assassin now.

"I was ordered to kill you..." I pause when I perceived a familiar scent. Mason is around, watching me secretly. I have to impress him.

"You'll have to die Alex" I spoke. He dragged himself away from me, crawling on the floor. I took steps towards him.

Alex shot out his claws and growled at me. His eyes were gold as if he was hungry for blood but they weren't as scary as Mason's.

"You're helpless now, aren't you?" I questioned him.

I walked to Alpha Mason's desk, took a clean paper and rolled it. The poisoned needles was already inside. I placed the tip in my mouth and aimed at his neck.

Immediately, it flew from the paper and stabbed his neck. He felt the pain and removed the needle.

"What did you...argh! f**k!" he cried and fell on the floor, groaning in pain. I moved closer to him and faced him. He swiftly raised his hand and pulled the cover from my face. The ponytail lose and my hair danced with the cool breeze.

"P... pretty" he mumbled.

I slipped my hand into my leather bag and took the antidote. I drank it and poured some into his mouth. He gulped it down.

"You're pretty good" Mason finally showed himself. I acted like I didn't know he was there.

"Greetings Alpha, forgive me for entering your chamber. I was only pursuing my target"

"I understand and you've impressed me. You pass the test. From now on, you're one of my eradicator" he said. I smiled and bowed.

"Thank you, Alpha"

"When will he wake up?"

"Tomorrow morning"

"Get some rest and introduce yourself to the others tomorrow. Whenever I need you, I'll call for you" he said and left.

"Thank you Alpha" I said and left. I didn't head to my room. I walked by the hallway, looking at the moon. For some reason, I'm always attracted to it. Maybe because it's beautiful or I'm yet to see my wolf. I suddenly remembered the lake behind the slave chambers.

I head there to have a better bath. I took off my clothes and entered into the water. The cool water was perfect for my naked skin. I washed my hair gently and brushed through with my fingers.

Immediately, I heard someone entering the water from behind. I froze. I didn't even sense the person at all. Who is it? Did anyone find out I'm a girl already?

The person hung his head on my shoulder, sniffing my body with his huge hands wrapped around my body.

"A girl, in the lake" he spoke in a whispering tone.

This voice! I gasped and moved away from him, covering my breasts with my hand. He smirked and folded his hand.

"You're beautiful. Tell me, what's your name? Who do you work for?" He asked, moving closer to me.

"I don't know who you are. Stay away!" I yelled.

Of course, I know who he is. This man is the reason I want to protect Alpha Mason. He's Gomez, Mason's elder brother.

He has a huge grudge on his brother and wish to kill him since he didn't get the throne, as the eldest son.

Before the former Alpha died, he passed everything to Mason, knowing that Gomez will only mess up everything. Since then, Gomez has been trying to kill Mason. He used anyway possible. But, why is he in Mason's territory today?

Did he...?

Wait!

Today was the day he tried to kill Mason with poisoned fruit. The person who saved him was Alex. Now, Alex is unconscious because I poisoned him.

No! I can't let Mason die. I took a step, wanting to leave but Gomez pulled me back with his strong grip.

"Tell me sweetheart, what's your name?" He asked.

"Ninah, Ninah is my name" I growled and left. I ran away naked with my clothes. As I ran, I kept dressing.

Ninah was the name Mason gave me in my first life.

I rushed to his office and saw the maid placing the apple on the table. Immediately, I stabbed her from behind. The knife pierced her heart, she coughed out blood and fell on the floor. Mason saw me and sprung up.

"Nine?"

"Forgive me for my rudeness but, this maid was sent to poison you" I said, bowing down.

"Again? Let me guess, it's my brother?" He asked and I nodded.

"You've saved me even if you just became an eradicator. Thank you, Nine" he said. He didn't even ask questions how I knew that. He was just glad that I saved his life.

"I'll clean this mess, please have some rest"

"I'm busy with things, I can't rest at the moment. Next week is the full moon" he said.

Ah! The full moon ritual. The day everyone lose control of their inner wolf, except the Alpha. They'll shift to their wolf form, run into the forest and devour any animal they see.

I just clocked 18, but I'm yet to see my wolf. I hope I get to see it next week.

"I just wish the ritual is delayed" he mumbled.

What ritual? In my past life, I didn't know of any ritual. I don't know if I should ask him.

"Is there anything I can help you with?" I questioned.

"Clean this mess and protect me till I go to bed. I'm sure Gomez will try to harm me" he said.

I hurriedly obeyed him and stood by his side, just like Alex always do. I didn't feel weak at all. This is what I've always wanted to do, to protect him.

Mason was focused on his work. It was finally midnight. He stretched his hands and faced me.

"I'm done, follow me" he said.

We head to his room. He changed his clothes and sat on his bed.

"How did you paralyse Alex?"

"I poisoned his water"

"Pffft" he laughed for a few seconds.

"I can't believe he fell for that" he said. He suddenly faced me with a serious look.

"This is a secret that only my eradicators know. I'll be mate with someone from the temple, I have no idea who it'll be. But if I get any visitor from there, let me know before you let them into my office"

Mate with someone from the temple? Why is it the temple? I remember Leah talking about how she left the temple to come to see him.

"I know you wish to ask a lot of questions but I'll tell you..." He took a dramatic pause and walked to the window.

"I'm to be mated with the next moon guardian"

I shot my eyes wide open.

"Moon guardian?"

If I remember clearly, moon guardian comes once in a thousand years. If one is seen, the present alpha will have to become mate with her to protect her from other hungry wolves. Her powers are immense, she is very beautiful and she has power to control the moon. I'm sure Leah fits that qualities. She's meant to be the only wolf with white fur.

"I understand, Alpha. I'll do as you have commanded"

"You may leave" I bowed and left his room. I let out a sigh and frowned.

My bath was ruined and Gomez knows I'm a girl. I hope he doesn't come to find me tomorrow.

The next morning...

"Hello there, do you know a slave girl called Ninah?" He asked a slave girl, with short pigtails.

I hid behind a pillar, gnashing my teeth and balling my fist.

"Why the f**k is he here?!!!!"
