Chapter 8Leah waited for Amy to finish locking up her apartment before locking their arms together and following the taller woman’s lead as they began their walk to the pub. A comfortable silence settled between them for a few blocks as both took time to enjoy the late summer afternoon. As a few cars sped past them on the street, a thought occurred to Leah. “Hey Amy?” “Yes?” “I’d have wanted to walk to the pub with you anyway, on account of how nice it is and everything, but I just realized I didn’t see Oliver parked anywhere and that got me thinking—how exactly did we get to your apartment last night?” * * * * It was close to midnight by the time Amy and Leah were free to go.
