Chapter Twenty
Jordan fought the urge to cry. The faint sounds of laser fire had echoed through the night. She couldn’t keep the choked sob from escaping at the knowledge of what had just happened to Dagger.
“I hate you,” she hissed, stumbling along the dark path.
Kelman released an irritated sigh. “I thought you might be a touch more original than the others,” he drawled impatiently, glancing behind him in frustration. The assassin should have caught up with them. “Move.”
