"Why aren't you eating?"
Anna had been staring a bit too obviously. She probably thought no one noticed, but the second Julian looked up and their eyes met, she panicked—hard.
Caught red-handed by a handsome guy. Help, what do I do now?
Not like anyone could really bail her out. She awkwardly looked away, faking nonchalance. "Oh, um… I'm already full."
The steam from the food softened the sharp lines of Julian's face, making him look a little less cold, a bit more… gentle.
His gaze said he knew exactly what was going on, but his voice stayed breezy. "You sure you're done?"
"Yeah."
