I’m sitting in my newly appointed office looking through the reports. As I read the report on Forest, I receive an e-mail from Alpha Henry. I open it to see it completely empty except for the signature line. I click on the attachment and narrow my eyes at it. ‘Give up Ellie.’ I do my thing and call up the IP address. It was sent a hundred miles away from an internet café. I stare at it and then look back over the footage of the interviews with Thad, Forest, Ryland, and the mother who didn’t let on that she knows anything. I have this feeling in my gut that somehow it is all connected. I had gotten word from Caleb that he wants me to make an offer to Ryland.
