Mr. Gold Ethan, the first son of Mr. And Mrs. Gold had developed a name for himself in the throngs of Texas. He was known as a womanizer who had taken more than half the ladies of Texas and its environs to bed. He left broken hearts where ever he went. He was of the opinion that any heart that got broken for his sake was through no fault of his. After he always told the ladies he took to his bed that it’s was a business transaction. Nothing more than satisfying each other. And what a satisfaction he gave. His s****l powers in bed was a much talked about topic among the ladies. Another thing that made it easy and Also difficult for the ladies to mend their broken heart was his penchant for always getting them expenses jewelries when he was through with them.

But, being a womanizer wasn’t the only thing that made Ethan a popular subject among the folks of Texas. Ethan possessed a brain built for business. His business rivals knew to always be on their toes, for his mind was always on the clock thinking of ways to Make his already billion dollar establishment richer.

Ethan had three younger siblings. Two brother and a younger sister.

His immediate younger brother john, was an explorer who traveled the world meeting new people and learning new cultures. His younger sister catherine, was still in college and manage to get herself into trouble every single day. But, it was his last brother josh, who gave him the most trouble. A model for most of the designers in Ethan’s company, he made his own money and didn’t need to depend on Ethan for an allowance and therein lay the proble..

Josh had the habit of spending his money without a care in the world. To him he could always make more at any point in time because, he had a stable job.

Ethan didn’t like this habit is brother. Had. Ethan had single handely built Ethan and co fashion industries after his father died and left his mother and his younger siblings with nothing. Ethan understood what it meant to struggle to make a name for yourself in the world and he wanted his brother to realize that what he had was not something to be taken for granted and thus he had come to this conclusion.

“ what? You can’t be serious “ Josh said while getting up from the chair he had been sitting on

“you know very well I don’t say what I don’t mean. And sit down. Don’t stand when I am talking to you”

Ethan had made an ultimatum to Josh. It was either he joined the new applicants for the interview coming up the next day or he forfeited working with Ethan’s designers.

Josh knew better than to call of his brother’s words as a bluff. Fie he knew Ethan never said anything he didn’t mean.

“you do realize I’m an adult and can do whatever I like?”

“ Then do it. No ones stopping you” Ethan said. This statement resulted in a staring match between the two brothers until Josh relented and stormed out of the sitting room

Mrs. Gold who had witnessed the entire argument chuckles. She knew better than to interfere in this matter because she knew whatever Ethan did to his siblings was because he wanted them to be strong. But, she was a mother and she just had to say something.

“ you are going to Make sure he is okay right”

“ of course mother” Ethan said

“Alright. Just wanted to ask” Mrs. Gold gets up “ I’m going into town to join the other ladies, Silvia’s daughter just had a baby girl and we are going over to pamper the baby”

“ Is this you way of telling me to get married and give you a grandchild”

“I’m glad you noticed” Mrs. Gold says and walks out.

Ethan’s mother had been pressuring Ethan to get married for sometime now. Ethan felt it probably had to do with the fact that all of his mother’s friends were all grand mother’s now.

But he couldn’t very well get married to any of the ladies he slept with. The moment he slept with them, he never thought about them again .

Unbidden,, the girl from the club came to his thoughts again. She had been a beauty and there was something he couldn’t quite pin point about her that caught at his attention. It was the first time he had thought of a lady after the night and it had been two full days.

By the time he had woken up in the hotel it had been early afternoon and she had been long gone. The fact that she hadn’t waited for him to wake up was surprising to him. What was most surprising was the fact that he had even slept all through the night. He never slept, not once. Immediately he was through he always left. But, with her he had been so tired and relaxed and he had Immediately fallen asleep.

Two days of having her in his mind and he was about to go crazy with thoughts of her and what had transpired between them that night.

He recurred that she had been so free and at the same time shy. It had been a lovely combination on someone as beautiful as her.

He hadn’t even been able to get her name . After he had freshened up, he had called the receptionist downstairs wanting to enquire if she had left her name or card, but, he had been disappointed to find out that she had not.

Maybe his mother was right. It was high time he got himself a wife.

Ethan prided himself on having patience and self restraint. These were the bedrock with which he had been able to build his company to the state it presently was. But, the day he had, had was beginning to prove him wrong.

He had always at all times been a part of the interview process in his company cause he believed it helped to build a transparent and friendly image for his company, but all through the year he had been a judge, this was the first time that the applicants had all blatantly tried to seduce him, even without knowing the position of the secretary they were searching was actually his own.

An hour after interviewing several applicants, he had finally accepted that they were all of the same impression that he missed business with pleasure. And the thought of that had ruined his mood and made him short with his temper and patience.

Most of the applicants didn’t even know what the job entailed. Hell, they didn’t even know anything about the company.

It was his guess that they all just came for the money and fame involved in working in his company in close proximity to his designers and models.

The last applicant had proven his point right. She had been a lovely blonde, who at any other time he would have taken to his bed regardless of if her head was an empty head.

But, Like his motto stated, he didn’t miss business and pleasure together.

His manager had decided to ask a rather simple question, maybe because all the previous applicants had seemed dull and dump .

The question had been about what Ethan and co fashion industries was all about. And surprisingly enough, the blonde had replied the company catered to the rich and wealthy of society with their designs.

Sure enough she would have been right if she had also included the fact that Ethan and co was known for its indiscrimination against any members of society.

This was something that Ethan prided his company on. After their father had died , there had Ben plenty a day when they hadn’t had a good clothe upon their back and so when Ethan opened his company, he vowed that his company will be a source of strength and joy to everyone regardless of their station.

So obviously, the blonde was a no as well. It wouldn’t be right to employ a person who didn’t understand something as little as that about the company. The damn answer was even on the brochure shared to all the applicants. Thus just showed their lack of commitment and dedication.

Ethan indicated for the next person to be called in with the thought of going through the same thing again.

And then she walked in. He couldn’t believe his eyes, there she was, walking towards the chair and avoiding high contact with any of the judges. He looked down at the file in his hands searching for her name and then he found it. Lilian James.

A fitting name for a beautiful lady.
