Third Person POV
“It hurts” she screamed “It burns. My body is burning.”
She was sobbing with the pain and he winced, wishing he could take the pain away and feeling helpless that he couldn't do anything to stop it.
Why was Damon and a doctor here? Confusion whirred in her mind. Lucian felt overwhelming guilt as he clutched at her hand. He was relieved to see her awake, as was the doctor but the pain she was in, caused him to feel grief and anger. He would have done anything to take the pain for her. He focused on her, his chest tightening as he saw the tears trailing down her cheeks and the panicked look in her eyes. She had no idea what was going on and he was fearful of the reaction she would have when she realized the truth of what he had done.
