Aftermath Josh woke up in a hospital room, hooked up to a whole range of machines and with a plaster on the side of his face where they’d stitched the wound on his head caused by hitting the side table. He was alone in his own room. Gabby’s jacket hung over the back of a chair next to his bed. There was also a BMW M4 model car at the foot of his bed, which he had given to Daniel for his last birthday. Gabby and Daniel had been there; maybe they had stepped out to get something to eat. He felt like death warmed up. He could, although with great difficulty and pain, at least move his muscles now.
