The announcement

At Abby's house Alikah cried her heart out about he puppy she and Abby tried her best to console her hearbroken friend. "let's take a walk" Abby said to Alikah and they headed down the street "soooo" Abby started and Alikah knew her bestie had something on her heart "Spit it out Abby" seeing the blush on Abby's cheeks Alikah rolled her eyes "so Kyle asked me to meet him later on tonight" "Abs no, you know Kyle is a player, he probably just wana bed you like he did with all the other girls" Alikah was instantly worked up she didnt want her best friend to get her heart broken by the biggest playboy in their neighborhood. But Abby was persistent, she had a crush on Kyle since they were in primary school. They continued walking and after a long silence Alikah spoke up and said " you know Abs. I really wanted the dark brown puppy, not the light brown one. But my mom doesnt want me to have her, the moment i made a move to pick her my mom grabbed her and made me take the other one. I dont even know why she foes the things she do. It's like she wana suck all the happiness out of my life" 

          " i feel you babe but she loves you it cant be that bad, i mean she is your mother after all" 

          "then why does she keep doing things to hurt me?" 

           "maybe she just wana protect you Ali" 

           "or maybe she wants to ruin my life" 

           "believe me she doesn't, a mother always wants the best for her kids" 

          "not mine though" 

          "of course she does Ali" 

          "atleast i got to name her, she's Zaza and the other one is Layla"

          "cool names. Im happy that in a sense you get to keep her" 

          "i gues its true hey. It could've been worse" 

           "Exactly"

Alikah and Abby continued walking to the house shop and bought each of them a lolliepop then headed back to Alikah's house. They found the puppies sleeping soundly Alikah started rubbing Zaza's ears who in turn woke up and started attacking Alikah's face with wet doggy kisses, Layla also woke up and ran to Abby. The girls took the puppies outside and took off runnithe announcement ng and playing with them. After about an hour they settled down under a tree and just laid on the grass looking up at the sky trying to see what shapes they could find. They laid under the tree for a while till all four of them fell asleep, when Alikah woke up she noticed it was starting to get dark, she gently shook Abby awake amd after making plans to meet up the next day they parted ways. Alikah took the puppies and went inside the house. She quickly ga e them each a bowl of milk and a bowl of soft puppy food before going to he bathroom to get cleaned up for dinner. After her bath she went to the kitchen and asked her mother if there is anythin she can help with and Jenny said to set the table. Alikah went ahead and set the table then helped her mother to carry the food. She went and called everyone to the table. After Michael said grace everyone started digging into their food when suddenly Aaliya announced she's moving out of the family home to the new boyfri3nds home whom she only met a month ago. Michael cleared his throat and said " Aaliya i dont think it is wise to move in with a guy you barely know" 

"well you dont get to tell me what i can and can not do now can you?" Aaliya exclaimed. 

"im not telling you what to do Aaliya im just stating facts. What kind of an example are you setting for your younger sister and even your kids?" Michael calmy said

"who cares, you are not my father and you do NOT get to tell me what to do. Right Mother?!" 

For a moment Jenny looked uncomfortable but quickly regained composure. " Ofcourse, Michael let her be, maybe she loves this fella" with a smug look on her face Aaliya continued to eat her food amd no one else said another word on the subject. After dinner Alikah cleared the table did the dishes, put the puppies to bed and went to her room to get ready for bed. She climbed into her bed, took out her cellphone to text Abby then went about scrolling through f*******:. She then pulled out her diary to document how her day was, going over everything that happened today she couldnt help but to shed a little tear, she didnt ha e that terrible of a life but it was not very comfortable either, she cant shake the feeling that her mother hates her and she is secretly contemplating to give her biological father a chance in her life, who knows maybe he did have a valid reason for leaving her, she cried till her eyes started drooping and she fell into a dreamless sleep.
