We all stood on the porch to the pack house, bright white snow falling fast from the sky. I could smell him before I saw him, my mate - being brought out in chains by some Gamma wolves. That smell made my knees go weak, and I had to fight the urge to not run over to Trexis and hold him. The Gammas threw him onto the ground, ten feet away from where me and my family stood. He looked up at me with his beautiful, bright eyes. His face almost brought tears to my eyes, I shook my head. I wish I could mind link him, try to understand but mate or not, this man wanted to kill my father.
