Chapter Twenty One: Sanctuary

Chen had left me in my new room to get situated. I had been given a cosy room in the pack house, just big enough to fit a double bed and a wardrobe in. Luckily, there was also a little en-suite bathroom. It was decorated with natural colours, beiges and greens to make you feel like you were sleeping in a woodland sanctuary. I put my new clothes away into the wardrobe and went to look out of the window. We were high up in the mountains, from my window of the third floor you could see what felt like the whole world beneath you. Despite the cold climate outside, it was warm inside and the bedsheets looked so cosy, I couldn’t resist just a little lay down. I climbed into the bed and it was like being hugged. I had never felt so calm, so at home, even though I know basically no one here. Mayb
