After the rally, the whole base was filled with an incomparable tension. The leaders had put in place some new rules to keep everyone safe, but people weren’t taking it well. Night patrols were doubled, there was a curfew for everyone, and no one was allowed to leave the base without permission. As the crowd heading back to their homes for the evening or to their night watch posts, I pushed through. Towards the leaders on the stage. By the time I had gotten to them, they only had a few stragglers near by who were demanding answers from them, that the leaders didn’t have.
Trexis managed to break away once he saw me. His face was plain, but his eyes looked tormented. He came straight over to me, I went to open my mouth to comfort him but he just grabbed my hand.
