Chapter 2

The day after graduation It was the day after graduation and I was busy packing my things for our trip. My father told me to bring a weeks worth of clothes for traveling between packs. This week it was approved for me to be in the Royal Guard, second in command next to my father. This required me to pack uniforms and normal street clothes. While out on our trips to different packs we would have to train so gym clothes were also necessary. I frowned as I realized I would need more than one suit case. I walked over to my closet and picked out my navy blue duffel bag. I put all of my gym clothes in there along with my shoes. "There we go. Perfect." Kaiser drifted through my mind "We pack like a girl." I could feel him laughing. "Nah. We truly need these things." I told him. We walked the stuff downstairs and sat it by the door to be loaded up. We would start out with the furthest pack Blood Moon first then move our way in to Crest Moon. Turns out the packs have been disputing amongst one another and needed to be set straight before it escalates further, like war between the packs. Something that we don't need and just a headache to deal with in general. My father walked out with my mother by his side. She smiled as she looked at me and made a fuss over my shirt not being properly tucked in. "Mom, stop, it is fine. We will be in a car then a plane. Mom!" I complained. "Okay! Okay. I'm stopping! I am just so proud of you." She reached for a hug and I bent down and gave my mom a hug as she placed a small kiss upon my cheek. When I stood she smiled at me "My boys, both so handsome." "You have to say that. You're my mom." I rolled my good eye. "Hey! Don't you do that. You are very handsome! You just don't see what I do." She smiled. "Now you both best be going. Don't want to miss your flight." "Carolyn, dear, we own the plane." My father told her. "Yes, yes, But you still need to stay on schedule!" She pushed us out the door with a smile and a wave. I took my stuff to the SUV that waited for us and climbed into the back seat as my father and mother said their goodbyes. I opened my phone and checked the local news articles for any information on the two feuding packs and found one how Lena, the Betas daughter, refuses to be a chosen mate for Gregor, the twenty six year old Alpha. She was definitely very beautiful with blonde hair, blue eyes, creamy smooth skin and a dazzling smile. I just sat there and looked at her while waiting for my father. When he got in I clicked the side button and my phones screen went dark. "So Andrew, ready to try to bring peace?" My father looked at me. "Yes. This fued needs to stop. Gergor needs to learn patience and both packs need to learn how to come together with a compromise and negotiate properly." I looked out the window as we passed all the trees that kept our Kingdom hidden from the human world. We reached the airport and loaded onto our private jet. I sat in the seat across from my father and looked around the plane. Four other Royal Guards joined us along with five of our top fighters. The ones who rode in this plane was the four Royal Guards; Jeremy, my fathers best friend and trusted advisor, Matthew our head training officer, Davis, our head of mission detail, and James the head of special operations. They were the only one I knew. The plane finally took off and we were able to move around. My father clicked a button and a table was brought up from the floor. A map was laid across the table to show how close the two pack really were. Looked like only fifty or so miles sat between their boarders. "Looks like the cause of the problems is over a twenty year old she-wolf." I told them and they frowned. "What?" My father asked. "Yeah Lena, the Betas daughter is refusing to be the Alpha of Blood Moons chosen mate. She was going to be the closing end of a deal they were making. If what I have read is correct, she threw a fit and said no. So Crest Moon is backing out of whatever deal they had agreed on." Jeremy looked over at me "How did you find this out?" "My phone had some local article from Blood Moons pack on there. Informing the pack of what has happened to have angered their Alpha. It was just released. Here let me pull it up on this screen here so you guys can read it too." I leaned over and typed in what I had on my phone, scrolled to the article and enlarged it so everyone could read it. I sat there in silence as they read. James looking over at me "Good work." Davis agreeing with him "Yes, very good work. I hadn't read this article yet." "Thank you both. It just came out this morning. I caught it when they just released it by only a few minutes I wanted to wait to share, sorry father." I looked over to him. "No no, don't be sorry you did the right thing. This way we can all discuss it properly." He leaned up in his seat, getting closer to the table. "This makes it simple then." "It does?" I asked. "It does. We just need to help rework a contract the suits them both in the end and leave her out of the contract all together. That Alpha has got to realize that just because you find her beautiful and you want her, you don't just get her." James sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose as if he had a headache. I did, the absolute audacity of this guy if this is the entire story is true is remarkable. I doubt that it is the whole story but hopefully we shall see the truth. We will have to interview both Alphas before coming up with a plan. As if he was reading my mind, "I am sure once we visit the packs, more information will leak about what is truly going on between the two. There has got to be more to the story." Jeremy said to us all. It wasn't long until we had to get back to sitting the proper way in our seats and buckle up. It was time to land and be on our way to the first pack. My father stepped away to call my mother and let her know that we had arrived safe. I felt as if this was more of learning trip than anything else. How to better prepare me for taking over as King one day. I got into the vehicle and when my father got in we headed towards Blood Moon Pack to talk the the Alpha and see what could be done. I watched the scenery outside my window change from a small airport to nothing but large evergreens and forest all around. We, unlike other visiting pack members, never stopped at the boarder. We went right through and made our way to the Packhouse. When we pulled up and Alpha Gregor was outside waiting on us. Everyone bowed their head, giving us their neck, as we exit the vehicle. We stood there for just a brief moment, looking around at who was there. News would soon spread that the King and the Royal Guard had arrived soon. My father began to walk to Alpha Gregor and I followed him. My father motioned for everyone to be at ease. Gregor had a few Omegas unload our luggage and we made our way inside. When we walked in the Packhouse it was surprisingly modern looking. A handful of the kitchen staff Omegas stood by with trays and offered us food and drink. I took a little of everything, said thank you and washed it down with a bottle of water. I walked behind my father as he and Gregor as they talked of what gas led up to this point. Apparently Lena and him were in a intimate relationship. He fell for her, she wanted to still be able to go out and party and was not ready to settle down. The way they were with one another her pack just assumed she wanted to be with him, but she apparently did not feel the same way about him, even though she told him she loved him. She used him for his money and allowed him to buy her the things she wanted. To me she sounded like she was very spoiled, very materialistic and just a down right rude person. She came from a strong pack, regardless. She was one of the top female warriors and was smart as hell when it came to strategic maneuvers in combat, so he told us. He sighed as he sat at his desk. "Gentlemen as you know my mate died at the age of twenty-two. I never thought I would love again and when she came along I found myself and who I was. I was miserable until I met her." He sighed. "I don't want anything from them unless I can have her. I may have lost control with my wolf and for that I apologize. I wasted resources and I am ashamed for what I have caused." My father nodded his head and looked between us all before speaking "She is very young, who knows, she may still come around. She may have just been scared to commit to someone who is not her fated mate. Give her space and you will see. But tomorrow morning have your guys ready for a training session at six." We all stood and left the office. It was weird because for the first time in my life, I felt bad for him. He was miserable, heartbroken, and confused. I sighed and sat in the chair in my room, turning the TV on to a local sports talk station. Dinner would be served soon and I knew it would be crowded. I considered just having it sent to me instead. I knew my father wouldn't approve and I sighed. I walked to the joining bathroom and decided a shower before dinner. I took a shower, got dressed and made my way down to their dining hall. I walked slower and more to the middle of the hallway so I wouldn't knock anything over. I could feel people's eyes on me and heard some woman tell someone else that "I was scary looking." But I wasn't scary at all when everything was said and done. I just looked like a monster with a gentle soul and and a very giving heart. I would give up the shirt off my back if someone truly needed it. Even after everything I have been through. Unless I was in training, then I let all my anger unleash itself. I walked into the dining hall and looked around the room, searching for my father and our men. I found them on the opposite side of the room and sighed. I made the walk as the crowd seemed to quiet around me and parted away from me. I heard all the whispers, "Its the Prince." "He's a hero you know." "He looks scary." "I bet he is as cold as stone. Look at his face, he has to be to just get through life." "I feel sorry for him, the world can be unkind and he doesn't deserve it for what he done to protect the Princess." "Although he has a scar, he is handsome in a unique way. He looks strong too." I sighed and sat down at the table to eat with everyone. My father linked me "Ignore them, some understand and others don't. They will get used to you as time goes by, trust me." I looked at him and gave a small nod. Dinner came out and we were served huge steaks and a rack of ribs with five skewers of garlic shrimp. Two skewered vegetables that had zucchini, peppers, mushrooms, and onion on them. The rest consisted of corn on the cob, loaded baked potatoes, green beans, a few rolls, and a large traditional house salad. It smelled wonderful and I dug in, finishing it all. Tomorrow brings a long day of training and I needed everything I ate along with a good night's rest. I excused myself and went up to my room to sleep. When morning came I got up, changed, and made my way down to the kitchen. I grabed a granola bar, a banana, and two waters. I made my way to the training grounds and began stretching my stiff muscles after I ate my food. I couldn't wait to get started and show these wolves what I was made of, proving my worth to them.
