Clara POV

Present day….

The sun was about to set on the horizon, and the cool breeze blew my hair backwards. I always enjoy the warmth of the sun but as it is about to go down, I knew I had to get back inside.

My house wasn't far from the river. This makes it easy for me to walk through the river bank and enjoy the calm nature.

I stroll through the river bank smiling profusely to myself. As I walked, my twin brother and the future Alpha of the Blood moon pack, Liam, called out my name.

“Clara, Come join us inside now.” Says Liam. " We are about to watch the movie soon.” he informed me, running his hand through his neatly made hair.

I smiled at him and glared through his light gray eyes which looked exactly like Dad's own. They both look so much alike but Liam had the gold like hair just like our Mom.

“I don't want to watch any movie. You go ahead and watch with the rest." I said and kept strolling.

Liam blocked my way. I sighed and called his name.

“Liam!" I called out, my eyes narrowed at him.

“Come on, Clara!" Liam speaks. “Moreover, Dad informed us that the king is coming soon and we will have to be the ones serving him."

I smiled at him. Liam hates to be ordered around. He believes that since he is the future Alpha, no one should order him around or command him. And now, the king is coming over, which means, someone more superior to order him around.

“What's funny, Clara." Liam asked with a cocky voice. “You know how much I hate being ordered around. And moreover, you know how arrogant the king is.” he complained. His navy wolf eyes shine through his eyes as he growls bitterly.

“Actually, I find it funny." I responded. “I really want to see Dad's bristle.”

Liam narrowed his eyes and stared at me. " You evil!” He says jokingly. " Afterall, you are Dad's favorite child after mom.”

" Yeah, everyone knows that.” I responded grimly.

I am 5 '7 foot while Liam is 6’ feet taller than me.

“You have to come watch the movie with us, Clara, please." He pleaded stubbornly.

I don't want to go. It would be dark by the time the movie finished. And then, there comes my weakness, a blind bat. Although I can use my senses to my advantage, I most times feel like a burden to my family even though they don't care.

“There you are, Clara, Liam." A voice interrupted us.

My one and only fierce friend, Sarah came running towards us. She is a year younger than I. She is seventeen years old and has black hair. But what's more fascinating about Sarah is her mismatched eyes. One is icy blue and the other is light green.

“Clara." She called out my name and hugged me tightly. She was all dressed in a blue knee-gown.

“Ow ow, you are gonna break my bones!" I said jokingly to her.

"Yeah! I am jealous of these plushies.” Says Sarah, pressing my boobs.

I blushed at her before she turned to Liam who was standing some inches away from us.

“The future Alpha." She says with a joker's voice. “Liam the great." She added, followed by laughter.

" Good that you are here, Sarah.” Says Liam. " We are planning to go watch a movie and your friend here doesn't want to go.”

Sarah, who was folding her arms to her chest, turned to face me.

" We both know she only listens to you, Sarah.” Says Liam.

Sarah chuckled and turned back to Liam. “And who says you don't listen to me too?" She says to Liam.

“Don't get overwhelmed, Sarah. I don't listen to anyone." Liam said as he tried to walk away.

" Ooo,here comes the fierce Alpha. I am shivering.” says Sarah in a mocking and gesturing way.

We both laughed hard as Liam walked away.

I turned to Sarah. “Don't even think abou it, Sarah. I have made up my mind. I am not going."

" You will definitely go watch that movie my dear friend. I will be there too.” Says Sarah.

I just hated being a burden or holding back people from doing some of the important things that matters to them. I feel useless right now.

I sighed and looked at my bestie. Okay… okay. I will go.” I said, brushing my hair backwards.

I joined the family members and got prepared for the movie night. After what felt like forever, we stepped out of the house and ready to head for the movie theater. Jackson, Liam's best friend and future beta was already standing outside waiting for us.

We got to the movie theater after a 30 minute drive. The four of us hang out mostly together. And this movie outing was another opportunity to share some good memories. We watched a comedy movie and we all laughed so hard at the scenes in the movie.

The movie theater was not that far from our pack. Despite our pack growing bigger day by day, we still lack some social amenities.

“This movie is good but I would have enjoyed it more if it were a thriller or horror." Says Sarah, throwing popcorn in her mouth.

“Yeah! Says the one who almost peed on her pants the last time we watched a horror movie." Jackson mocks Sarah, shoving some popcorn into her mouth. She bit him a little on his finger.

Liam watched us, the way we laughed and had good moments. It was like something was reeling in his mind.

“Zip it up guys." Says Liam. Sarah released Jackson's hand.

I smiled at them. “I told you guys I am the third wheel or rather the fourth wheel." They all turned and faced me looking confused and curious.

“Clara, what do you mean?" Liam asked. His brow knit together.

“Yeah! What do you mean, Clara." Sarah asked also.

I just shrugged off my shoulder. Sometimes, I act like someone who is possessed. I say things that even I don't understand.

They were all baffled and I knew what I said irked them. I turned and faced the big screen on the wall. My preference for movies are usually romantic movies but it is always hard to choose whenever we are going out together.

“You look damn beautiful, Clara." Says Jackson. But I already knew what he meant by that, an answer to what I said earlier.

Liam jokingly uses his hands to cover Jackson's face. “Get your eyes off her, you prick."

I am grown up, I had boobs and ass. So I wasn't shy to flaunt them.

“Hey, Clara…" Jackson pushed away Liam's hand as he tried to speak again.

I quickly cut him off. “Don't, Clara me. Figure it out yourself."

Sarah smirked as she watched both boys look confused.

Suddenly, I felt a change in the air and I needed to step out for some fresh air.

“I need some air. I am stepping out." I say, trying to get up from my seat.

But before I could get up completely, the three of them stood up evenly and the chorus spoke. “Alone!"

" Anyways, I need to ease myself. I will be heading to the bathroom.” Says Sarah.

“I know you don't, Sarah." I shut her up with a firm voice. I could see the blinks at the edge of the seat.

Neither do humans see clearly in the dark, I know they only follow the lights.

“Alright, Sarah you can go." Says Liam before turning to me. “And you, I'm taking you with me." He added and grabbed my hand and led me outside. “Make sure to mind link me just to be sure you are safe."

"okay.” I said, nodding my head. But I wasn't going to do it anyway. The familiar pain in my ankle surged again.

“Be careful out there." Liam mind links me.

“I will, big brother." I responded and headed out.

My anger faded. I understand that they were just only looking out for me and nothing more.

I walked towards the bathroom first. I could feel Liam watching me as I walked. Soon, I entered one of the bathrooms and locked it. The mini mirror on the wall reflected my image. A beautiful stunning lady was staring back at me. I stared at myself in the mirror, my long sandy hair flaunted backwards and my sage green and blue ring eyes were one of the most beautiful things I love about me. It was a combination of Dad and Mom.

I stepped out of the bathroom and headed out of the cinema. Immediately I stepped out, my wolf became restless.

“Easy, girl." I whispered, not like I can hear if she responds but I like to think that I can communicate with my wolf. “Tell me, is there something out here?" I asked. My wolf and I mostly communicate through emotions.

I kept feeling the urge to walk deeper, away from the cinema. The lights from the cinema become faint the more I walk deeper away from it. However, I stopped. I know I shouldn't be out here all alone. Even though my wolf can't see in the dark, she was strong and very fast.

The sound of the alarm setting off startled me. Everywhere became point black. The power outage went off and everywhere became too dark.

“Let's go back, this isn't a good idea to be out here alone." I whispered to my wolf.

" Clara, where are you?” Liam suddenly yells my name through the mind link. There was panic in his voice.

I responded. “I am fine, Liam. Relax." I mind linking him. " I will stay right where I am until the light comes on.”

“Good. Wait for Sarah, she will join you."

“I am fine, Liam." I argued but there was no response. He probably went after Sarah to get her come to me.

I sighed and decided to head back to the cinema but something was off. I heard a low growl behind me. The whisper of wind sent shivers down my spine as I heard a movement behind me. I took to my heels.
