“Then, why don’t we sleep at the same bed…”

Shade’s POV

“Are you two dating?”

“What?!” I exclaimed. “Why would you even think of that?”

She sat up well. “First of all, you should apologize for shouting at me, and second, I notice how Mr. Lopez glare at you earlier. It looks not normal or something like… weird.”

I rolled my eyes and sigh, “I think you’re just mistaken. Stop thinking that my boss is acting “weird” because of me.” I emphasize the word weird in a sarcastic way.

She stood up and walks towards the table, “Fine. I’m only saying something that I noticed and besides, there’s nothing wrong when Mr. Lopez is into you, especially when the two of you are dating.”

I took a pillow at my bed and raises it above my head, “You want me to throw this to you so you would wake up from your imaginations?” I said with a serious and pissed face

She laughed and started to eat her food. “Go ahead Mr. Garcia-Lopez.” She then smirks

I’m really pissed off of what she said but I don’t have any intention to throw the pillow at her. Instead, I stood up and sat next to her then took some of her food.

“Hey!” she shouts then glares at me. It was my turn to laugh at her. “You have to pay for that.” I shook my head while making a funny face. “Oh, that’s what you like huh?” She grabs her cola drink and stands up. My eyes wide open when she’s standing next to my bed and holding her drink above it.

I quickly stood up, “N-no, Kathy please no. Okay, I’m sorry, I’ll pay you with my food.” I beg. Her smirk making me mad since I lose from her

“Good. That is a great idea, Mr. Garcia.” She laughs. She was about to get back from her seat when she accidentally steps on the paperwork that fells down from the bed

“My paper works!” I shout made her startle and let go of the glass she’s holding. I gasp as I saw the glass fall from her hands and landed on my bedsheet. Both of us were shocked and didn’t move for a sec. I quickly took the glass from my bed and stare at the wet bedsheet. “Sh*t! what now?” I bit my lower lip and went to the side table to use the telephone

“Shade, I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.”

I face her, “It’s fine Kathy, it was also my fault.” I look away when the room service accepts my call, “Umm Hello? Yeah, I actually have a problem. Well, my bedsheet is totally soaking wet right now. P-please do not misunderstand, my friend accidentally lets go of her glass of cola.” I turn my head to Kathy who looks at me with a questioning face. “U-umm… d-do you have any extra room for me? Or-” I sigh and said goodbye to the room service.

“What did it say?” She quickly asks

“The hotel doesn’t have any stock of bed sheets left and there is no extra room.” Kathy bits her lower lip and looks down

“I’m really sorry Shay. I didn’t mean to cause you trouble.” She said with a sad tone

I chuckled, “It's fine. I might just stay awake or think of another way.” 

A knock from the door made us turn our heads to the door. “That must be the room service.” When she said that, I walk towards the door and open it

My eyes wide open, “Mr. Lopez?”

He looks at me before taking a glance at Kathy who is also staring at him. “Miss Kathy Lopez, what are you doing here?”

I turn around at Kathy, she is walking towards us. “I’m sorry Mr. Lopez.” She sarcastically said. I frown in confusion why she uses that tone

“Kathy-”

“Are you sure you're going to use that kind of tone to your brother?” I automatically look at my boss with a shocked face

“B-brother?”

Kathy sighs, “Yes Shade, he's my stupid-annoying brother.” She stated while glaring at Vince

“Don’t you dare talk to me like that Kathy Rain Lopez!” My boss hissed

Kathy rolls her eye. “Anyway, why are you here?”

“I’m here to talk to my secretary, how about you?” he looks at her with a serious and scary face

Kathy points our food at the table, “Eating dinner with your “secretary”.”

Vince sigh and notices the wet bed sheet, “What happen here?”

“Oh, Kathy- I mean I accidentally drop my glass of cola-”

“Kathy, you are such a trouble maker. What did you do again?” Vince angrily said but not raising his voice

“It was me sir-” He quickly turns his head at me and glares

“Stop lying.” He said then looks at her sister again. “You are always causing a lot of troubles. Why don’t you go back to your room and do your works.”

I took a glance at Kathy, I can see through her eyes that she’s hurt by what he said. I’m used to hearing words like those from my boss to some people and it doesn’t bother me but knowing he said it to his own sister, it sounds too mean and I hate it

“Sir, it’s fine. It was all an accident-”

“Fine, I admit that I’m one big trouble maker. I am a stupid and clumsy sister of yours, so what? Bear with me.” She said dropping a tear from her eyes, she then walks away

“Kathy…” I call her but she had already left the room

I heard my boss sigh, the reason I turn my head at him. “I apologize to say this Vince but you shouldn’t have said that. That was really mean and you really hurt her bad. You have to say sorry to her.” I utter, ignoring the fact that he’s my boss.

He only stares at me and sighs. He then turns his head at my bed, “Have you already talk to the room service?”

I can’t believe he just ignores my words. I controlled myself not to shout at him. “I already did. They said that there are no bedsheets left and not even an extra room.”

“What kind of a hotel is this?”

I low key glare at him. I really don't like this kind of his attitude. “It’s fine sir, I understood them. I’ll just sleep on the floor or-”

“Sleep in my room.”

I automatically look at him with wide-open eyes, “What?”

“I said, sleep in my room. There’s no other choice. Instead of sleeping on the cold floor, just sleep in my room.” He said without looking away

I was the one who looked away. I don’t think it’s a good idea to sleep with your boss but do I really have a choice?

After agreeing with my boss. We left the room and went to his own room with my luggage. It was really awkward, I don’t dare to move freely. I think it is best to go back to my room and just sleep on the floor but will my boss agree? I’m afraid he’ll get mad. I suddenly remember what he did to Kathy

“Y-you need to hear me out V-Vince. As your friend, I think you need to apologize with-”

“Shade, I know you’re my friend right now but you don’t have to overthink about what happen earlier. It’s our problem.” He said while opening his luggage, he must be going to take a shower

 “But didn’t you see Kathy's face earlier? She was so hurt by what you said-”

“Stop Shade. Instead of saying nonsense, why don’t you ready yourself to take a shower?” he said and stood up from heel sitting. He then sat at the bed while reading some papers

I quite feel hurt by what he said. Nonsense? Which part of what I said was nonsense? Mr. Lopez is being Mr. Lopez, He’s a straightforward man who doesn’t care about what other people feel. I follow what he said and after grabbing some clothes, I went inside the bathroom and took a shower.

Shortly afterward, I go out of the bathroom and saw my boss waiting near the door. He went in when I finally got out. Looking back at the door, I glare at it and bad-mouthed the person inside. I can’t believe that I’m still working with this kind of guy. He may be kind but when he said something really bad, it’ll hurt you like how a sharp object hurts you.

After a moment, I was about to yawn when my boss got out of the bathroom. I quickly close my mouth, he probably notices it since he was staring at me.

“You can go to bed first Shade.” He said while drying his hair with a towel. I look at the bed and planning to take a pillow but I stop when he speaks. “You can sleep in the bed, I’ll just sleep on the couch.”

I peek at the couch and bit my lip when I saw it was small, “No sir, I’ll sleep on the couch.”

He shook his head, “I order you to sleep at the bed.”

“But the couch is too small for you sir.”

He took a glance at the couch, “Then, why don’t we sleep in the same bed.” He stated that made me shock

Moments later, I’m here sleeping beside my boss. I tried to tell him that I’ll sleep on the couch but he didn’t agree and ordered me to sleep on the bed. I don’t know what to feel, It is really awkward and I can’t sleep. This situation is uncomfortable, really uncomfortable.

The lights were turned off and I’m pretty sure that my boss is already fallen asleep. Meanwhile, I try to fall asleep. I turn around and saw my boss’s back. It was big and has muscles, he really has a perfect body, I guess he works out.

I was staring at his back when he suddenly turns around. My heart suddenly skips a beat and I don’t know why? Is it because I was scared that he’ll catch me staring at him? I can’t believe this guy, even his sleeping face still looks handsome. He looks like an angel but his manner is… never mind. I close my eyes and tries to fall asleep and this time, I succeed.

I slowly open my eyes. I knew I was facing the window since it was the sun's brightness that wakes me up. “You’re finally woken up?” Both of my eyebrows meet, I turn around to know who just spoke. I quickly sats down at the bed when it was my boss

“S-sir?” I stutter

“Good morning Mr. Garcia. I think it’s time for you to ready yourself since it’s almost working time.” He said. I grab my phone from the side table and look at the time. Oh no! it’s almost 8 AM. I quickly open my luggage and took my formal suit and went into the bathroom. Before I could get in, I heard my boss chuckled. Fine, free to laugh at me bossy boss hmph

I was glad that I made it on time. We were told to leave the hotel at 8 AM since the three businessmen have a meeting. The meeting was actually really boring but what caught my attention was that Mr. Lopez and Kathy whom I still can’t believe are siblings, were avoiding contact with each other.

Kathy looks sad and doesn’t have the energy to pay attention at the meeting. I sometimes glare at my boss, when I remember what he said. He was so annoying last night, he didn’t even apologize to her.

“Mr. Garcia?”

I turn my head at my boss, we are in his room, having a meeting, I also don’t know why he asks for a meeting with just me and not with the other businessmen? “Sir?”

“Can you call for the room service and ask them to bring me a bottle of wine.” I nod and stood up from sitting down on the couch. I call the room service using the telephone and asks what my boss wants

After some moment, the room service knocks at the door and I quickly opened it. “Hi, here is the bottle of wine you asked.” She said

I smiled at her, “Thank you.”

“You’re Shade right?” I respond with a nod. “You really are cute. By the way, I’m Lesley.” she seductively introduced herself

I chuckled, “T-thank you, Lesley. I actually got to go, Good night.” I said making her smile

“Okay, good night cute boy. By the way, why are you glaring at me like that Mr. Lopez?” I look back at my boss who is watching us talk. He didn't speak instead the woman spokes again, "Bye." I smile, I didn’t wait for her to leave and I close the door. I walked towards the table and put the wine on it. I walk to the kitchen to get a wine glass

“Shade.” Even I’m in the kitchen, I clearly heard him call me

“Yes sir?” I said while walking back to where my boss is.

“Have a drink with me.”
