Ben I stood kicking my foot against the curb while I waited for Paul. Eight he said he’d pick me up, but it was eight-twenty-five when I glanced at my watch. It would be my luck that if I walked back into the house, he’d honk his horn. Better stand and wait, I supposed. At least it wasn’t cold or raining. I heard a screech of tires from a block or two away and guessed it would be him. The headlights came around the corner on the wrong side of the road. The old Camaro rolled to a stop a few feet before me. I sauntered over, and Paul stepped on the gas like a douche and ended up a few feet in the other direction.
