The drive to the children's school, Ivy Royals, was unusually silent because Leonard was in the car with us. The kids were no longer used to their father's presence but mine. We have our car session every time we drive to drop them off, but it was different today. Landon was on his iPad while Layla was looking outside the window.
And Leonard was on his phone as usual. I, on the other hand, was thinking about the words Leonard said to me last night, putting a claim on me. I wish I had told him off yesterday, that I wasn't his property, but I was too stunned to utter a word.
