Leilyn hears as the baluster crash to the ground and she awaits for the inevitable pain.
Which never came.
She slowly opens an eye and she lets out a gasps, her other eye opening and both eyes go wide as she looks down.
It seems as if she’s hovering in the air. Her dangling necklace, and her classic length hair – which touches the floor due to its long length – proves so. She lets out a harsh breath though her mouth, blowing debris dust into her face. She sneezes lightly.
Did… did Chibi give her the ability of flight? Or is this her child’s doing?
When Leilyn thinks back on the impromptu flight lesson Chibi gave that night, it answers her question.
“Whoa!” She exclaims as she starts floating up, feet first.
Her mind takes her back to Chibi’s lesson, their words resonating in her ears.
She inhales deeply before she concentrates on trying to control her new ability and not float to space like a wet ear dummy.
It takes her a minute to gather herself and learn to fly once again. She rights herself, floating before the damaged balcony.
Zoranne’s holographic form, which is standing inside the room, an inch away from the door, heaves a sigh of relief, a hand on her chest. “Are you okay, Ms. Lyn?”
“I’m good. Great actually.” The caramel skin woman grinned at her A.I wolfishly. “I can’t believe Chibi gave me the ability of flight!”
Zoranne smiles softly at her. “I won’t be surprised if Eldritch-san knew of your love of being in the air. It might be their last gift to you.”
“One of their gifts.” Leilyn corrects. “Chibi said they gave me ‘gifts’ to take care of myself. Flight is useful in escaping a bad situation.”
The A.I smiles warmly at her mistress. “Why don’t you test your new ability out? I’ll make arrangement for a construction company to come fix your balcony.”
“Sure!”
With a chuckle and a grin, she slowly turned around and she’s off. It seems she added too much speed in her flight that she seem to fly at an unbelievable rate.
“Whoa!” She flair her hands, trying to reduce her speed. She seems to turn off her power as she starts dropping down. “Oh s**t!” She yells as her body drops and she heads for the trees. She activates her power again, stopping herself from being impaled on a tree. She chuckles nervously, a bead of sweat rolling down her jaw.
“Please, do be careful Miss Leilyn.” Zoranne says in her ear, through the Ear Seed in her right ear. “Remember you’re not only putting yourself at danger, but also the Young Master. Go at a slow pace; like you did with Eldritch-san.”
Leilyn lets out a nervous laughter. “Noted.”
She takes in a deep breath, righting herself. She takes her flying slowly, getting herself used to be in the air.
When she feels like the warm up is enough, she shoots up into the sky, doing twirls and aerial loops. She whoops and scream in excitement, uncharacteristic for her to do so.
She pauses in the air and inhales deeply, her hands wide open.
With a droopy sigh, she turns in the air and heads do, giving a last spin in the air.
While up in the air, she discovers a small meadow deep in the woods. She slowly descends there, feet gently landing on the grass scape covered with flowers.
With a breathy sigh, she slowly and carefully sits on the ground in a meditative position. She plucks a flower, giving it a sniff. She gently places it in her hair, gently placing her rebellious strands behind her ears.
“Ms. Leilyn!”
Zoranne’s voice brings her back to the present. She blinks owlishly once or twice before her brows furrow in confusion. Why does Zoranne sound so worried?
“Z?”
“I sense an incoming projectile coming your way at a very fast speed! On your right!”
Leilyn jumps up, a hand on her bulge. “What?” She sharply turns and she see what looks to be a flaming ball landing twenty feet away from her.
When it lands, it creates a light shockwave, sending harsh wind and debris everywhere.
Leilyn crosses her hands and uses the back of them to cover her face, eyes closed shut. She stands with both legs spread, feet digging into the ground to prevent herself from lying away; which honestly doesn’t work and she’s almost blown away. She gets on the ground, her fingers dinging into the soil.
Finally, the small blast finally ends and she quickly gets back up. She looks at the thick smoke feet before her, trees no doubt destroyed in its wake. She’s not optimistic that the town didn’t notice. She’s just surprised that they managed to bypass the Luna Station.
“Are you alright, Ms. Leilyn?!” Zoranne’s voice sounds kinda far away, due to how her ears are still ringing. She shakes her head, trying to get her ears to start working properly. “Ms. Leilyn!”
“I’m fine Z.” Leilyn removes a handkerchief from her pocket and cleans her hands of soil particles before dusting her clothes of dust and flower debris. “What was that? Is it a space ship? Please tell me that alien princess isn’t back already.” She groans out, not ready to deal with any of that s**t right now.
“From my heat analysis, it looks humanoid. Due to how thick the smoke is, I can’t get a clear view. Zooming in right now.”
“While you’re at it, make sure to send to the local Enforcement that there’s no need to investigate. Tell them it’s an experiment gone wrong or something.” Leilyn waves her hand. “Just make sure that they’re delayed from arriving here.”
“Copy, Ms. Leilyn.”
Leilyn pockets the dirty handkerchief before quickly making her way to the crash site. As she gets to the site, she taps her Ear Seed and a holographic glasses form on her face. Not only does it gives her a clear and detailed view of everything and her surrounding, it also protects her from the dust in the air. The holo-glasses changes to heat signature mode and Leilyn walks over to the hunch over humanoid… thing.
“Moshi moshi?” She calls out.
The humanoid slowly stands up and with it come wings. Leilyn watches with wide eyes as they spread. With a single flap of their wings, a heavy wind blows and the dust clears. Leilyn finds her jaw dropping.
Before her stood a tall – standing at maybe 5’11 or 6’ – ethereal lithe and petite creature. From her head to her toes, clothes and all; she’s a f*****g fantasy. She’s dressed in a tight pink sleeveless, turtleneck crop top, which seems to be barebacked to give way for her fairly sized pale blue wings, which fold and settle on her back, reaching an inch just below her knees. She wore a white, high waisted skirt that stops at her upper thigh with the bottom rimmed gold in color. She also wore see through turquoise blue sockings – the left reaching her thigh and the right on her knee; and lavender and grey colored, 3 inch ankle boots. Her long hair is a golden blond with pink strands and the bottom a light teal green, shining in the sunlight and pulled up in a high ponytail with a long side bang hanging over her face. Her eyes are a vivid shade of teal, with a swirl of… purple? Or is that violet?
With a tap of her Ear Seed, the holo-glasses resides, allowing her to look at the Angel(?) clearly. Must be an Angel, seeing how those wings were pristine white.
Wait… what’s an angel doing here? It can’t be…
“A human.” The angel said, looking down at Leilyn with disdain and disgust clear as day on her face. Leilyn goes stiff. “How nauseating.”
“And you’re a level one asshole, judging a being you just met. Hon, at least we both how distinguishing personality we can point out. Isn’t it wonderful?” Leilyn chips out, a sweet smile on her lips.
The Angel out right glares at her and Leilyn feels dread filling her.
Welp, thankfully, looks don’t kill… probably?
Well, if her glare doesn’t kill here, then the intense killer instinct being sent her way will surely do. By the Cosmos, it’s suffocating. She feels as if something is squeezing the very breath out of her. She gulps, sweat appearing on her brows. She takes a step back, mind screaming at her to run. This is way out of her league. So f*****g out of her league. Oh, how she f*****g wished that she carried Infernal once again. f**k.
“Ms. Leilyn, I can feel your heart beat spiking up.” Zoranne says in her ear, but she pays no heed to her. Her sole attention is on the danger before her, standing in her wickedly divine glory.
Suddenly, Leilyn feels an aura that she has come to akin her sense to when the owner were around. It feels warm and soothing to her. It makes the stiffness melt out from her body due to her sensing the familiar tendril of power. It couldn’t be. It… it feels like-
"Chibi?” Leilyn whispers out, her eyes going wide with recognition, which then narrows when she realizes who exactly is in front of her.
So, this is Faerai, huh?
Fuck.
