Safe House (switching point of veiw)

After about an hour of running we've finally made it to the safe house. Katara is exhausted but she did an amazing job. I couldnt be more proud to have her as my wolf.

She slowly layed down and let James crawl off of her back before she let me take control. We trotted behind a tree and found one of the many hidden outfits for our pack members. I leave the shorts incase somebody else needs them but make sure to short on the oversized shirt before stepping out and grabbing James.

We make our way into the house. There is about 25 members sitting in the living room, another 5 in the kitchen, and a few children running around. Everybody looked up when they saw us come in but nobody made eye contact.

The pack was safe here due to a barrier an appreciative witch put into place after the Alpha saved her and her family. She returns once a year to ensure the barrier is in tact.

I take James to our back room and lay him down for a nap before going to the dresser and grabbing some shorts.

"Alpha we have arrived safely. There is about 30 adults and 7 children here already." I wasn't expecting any response yet but thought I should update the Alpha via mindlink.

I stepped into the living room and took everything in. All the scared pack members looking to me for answers. I grabbed two omegas and we headed to the kitchen. After what we've all been thru everybody needs to eat and regain some strength.

we pull out everything and start cooking. waffles, chicken, burgers, fries, and pork chops. We make plenty for everybody that might show up.

Suddenly I felt a strong surge of power rip through my heart making me double over and release a blood curdling scream. My aunt rushes to me and begins holding me whispering sweet nothings into my ear until the pain dissipates.

"Aunt Tiff what's happening?"

"I'm so sorry J. That was the shift of power the Alpha told you about"

"but aunty the power shift only happens if the acting Alpha steps down.." before I could finish Aunt Tiff cut me off

"or dies sweety" She let the words fall from her mouth as tears began to pool in her eyes

"J, you are now the acting Alpha to ColdRose. How do you want to proceed?" With that question all eyes turned to me.

"Katara I dont know how to do this"

"Yes you do J. Youve been training for this and you'll have me with you the whole time"

"thank you katara"

"ColdRose this is your Alpha speaking. Alpha James has been taken down. Everybody abandon the pack lands and head to the safe house. Strength be with you ColdRose" I closed the mindlink and turned towards the pack members now gathering around.

"Aunty please bring me a map of the territory"

"here they are sweety"

For the next few hours we sat and figured out how the rogues were able to get into our territory without being detected. Slowly pack members started filling into the safe house a couple at a time.

After being at the safe house for about 5 hours we've only had 100 of our 600 pack members show up.

I've started walking the perimeter of the safe house trying to think of a plan to keep my pack safe once this is all over.

Branches snapped about 10 yards from the safe house. I drop into a defensive stance ready to fight whatever is coming when suddenly Terra comes bounding from the trees and drops right in front of me with 5 children close behind.

"Terra!" i breathed a sigh of relief seeing my bestfriend alive and well

"J I didnt know if you made it out then I heard ur mindlink and grabbed everybody I could find. I'm so sorry about the Alpha but know that our pack will follow you." She squeezed my shoulder slightly as I began to look over the children that had followed her. Only a few minor scratches.

"Take them inside. Your mother is there doing what she can." Terras mother was the pack healer but she mainly worked on mental problems where as our pack doctor, Mr. blaney, did all the physical problems. Nobody has seen Mr. Blaney yet tho.

Once Terra gets everybody inside I can smell the rogues starting to disperse telling me the attack is ending.

"ColdRose the rogues are starting to disperse. Anybody that hasn't arrived at the safe house please sound out via link and I will find you." hopefully some pack members are still alive out there.

"Alpha I am in the southwest area of the pack lands. We need help! 3 rogues are approaching and I cant hold them off. I have two injured warriors with me. We cant travel. Please save us Alpha!" With that the link cut off.

I ran into the safe house and right into the middle of a pack meeting.

"Everybody we are going to start search parties now. I've only received one mindlink so far but I'm sure there will be more coming in. I will take 5 people with me to the southeast side. Anymore links come in you go search in groups of 4 or 5. watch your backs and be safe. Strength be with you ColdRose"

"and also with you Alpha" responded my pack as I turned and left the safe house with 5 members following me.

We each shifted and began the trip to the pack lands
