“Run!”
Adrian grabbed my hand and pulled me behind him.
I barely had time to understand what was happening.
One moment, we were walking through the forest path outside the palace.
The next, an arrow buried itself in the tree beside my head.
I screamed.
Adrian pushed me down.
“Stay behind me.”

Then three figures stepped out from the trees.
They were dressed in black.
The same black symbol I had seen on the assassins before was marked across their clothes.

One of the masked wolves laughed.
“Not just you.”
He pulled out a silver blade.
“The Moonborn blood must be erased.”
