“The girl has been found.” I stared at that line. Then I read it again, just to make sure. My fingers clenched around the paper. Three years. Kael had known about me that long. I wasn’t sure what scared me more—knowing someone had been looking for me, or realizing Kael had always known exactly where I was. I folded the note and marched straight to the royal quarters. Didn’t even bother knocking. I shoved the door open. Kael looked up, caught off guard. His face shifted the instant he saw me. “You shouldn’t be here.” I slapped the document onto his desk. “Then maybe you shouldn’t have been watching me.” He looked down at the paper. Didn’t say a word. I crossed my arms. “Three years.” Nothing from him. “You knew about me three years ago.” My voice shook. “Yes.” He barely blinked. T
