Chapter 36

1202 Words

Elyse pov The new room was ridiculous. I stood in the doorway, staring at what was apparently now mine, and couldn’t process the sheer size of it. The luxury of it. My old room had been nice, comfortable enough for a prisoner, which is what I’d been. But this was something else entirely. A massive four-poster bed draped in deep blue silk. Windows that stretched from floor to ceiling, flooding the space with natural light. A sitting area with plush chairs arranged around a fireplace. A wardrobe that could fit a dozen people inside. A bathroom with a tub large enough to swim in. And everywhere, there were small touches that showed someone had actually thought about me. About what I might like. Books stacked on the bedside table. Not pack history or werewolf lore, but novels. Stories.
