Alex found me in the library the next afternoon.
I’d been hiding there since breakfast, surrounded by books I couldn’t focus on. Trying not to think about the one-month deal I’d made with Ronan. Trying not to analyze why I’d agreed to stay.
“There you are.” Alex leaned against the doorframe, his usual easy smile in place. “Ronan’s been looking for you.”
My stomach tightened. “Why?”
“Because there’s something you need to know. Something is happening tonight.”
The way he said it made my skin prickle. “What’s happening tonight?”
Alex pushed off the doorframe and moved into the library, his expression turning serious. “Ronan announced the pack council yesterday. He told them you’re his mate. That he’s accepting the bond.”
