The Death Game of Netherland

A person who doesn't have any alternate personalities is so called boring. An animal without it's same breed, same looks cannot be called as countless. A building without it's same structure, same level, same height nor a same size cannot be called as perfection. A brand without it's name is nothing but a cheap brand. A country without it's similarities to the other country, cannot be called as a cross cultural. And A world without it's alternate dimension is nothing but not called as a world.

In this story, there are two story inside a one big story. A two story that is connected to each other. A story that the two main characters should find a way out, nor a way in to finish it.

But how can they do it?

If a bad future is waiting for them.

And a present that can change the past and future, a past... And future...

Can they survived to their alternative world? To the world they were fans of? To the world they enjoy reading nor learning?

Can they?

Or they can't.

There's always a sad ending into a happy start.

That's what her mother said to him before she went missing. That don't celebrate too early, because if you do, you can or you will attract the alternative of the good to your early celebration, the bad, the karma, or the unluckyness of yours.

Akai suddenly drop his bag when he heard his father's news when he got home 8 seconds ago, he never expected it, he never knew that he will heard a news about his mother again, well he hopes that the news about his mother will come to him soon, but not like this news, not like his father's news.

He doesn't want it. He does not want it.

"They found your mother." His dad said. "Your mother's body." He continues.

Akai's mother is missing for 7 years. Akai thought she was just hanging out with her friends that night, but days had passed, she didn't go home, no one saw her, no one did see her. Before she went missing, her mother gave him a necklace, a pendant one, where there is a lock and the key is nowhere, he doesn't have any clue where and why did her mother gave it to him . She says that what's inside the pendant is more important than he thinks, nothing else, nothing more. The same night before she went missing. Akai didn't knew that, that was the last time he will see his mother, the last conversation, the last hug, evrything that had happenned between them, is at last, it comes to an end.

That is the last word of his mother, before she went missing.. take care of the pendant.

Akai run upstairs, locked himself inside his room, and he starts to cry, he did not sleep, he didn't even rest. He keeps thinking about his mother the whole night. Why she didn't left a single word, a clue to be exact, on who killed her and why why she was missing for 7 years, a clue on what is happening to her, a clue about the pendant. He keeps thinking it too if when did her mother died, or how did she die.

He get the pendant that his mother gave to him and look at it, he still wearing it on his neck.

"What's so special about you?" Akai ask him self in nowhere while looking to it. he unzip it to his neck and put it in on his bedside table, and he covers himself under a blanket.

Next Morning...

Akai stand in front of his mirror and force himself to smile while he was dressing his school uniform. He force himself to smiled even when he knew that his mother is dead, that he will never saw her again in his life, his hopes of seeing her are now gone. Even he is sad, part of him is very excited because of his favorite movie, called, The Earth: The movie, it is having a celebration at the fifth island outside his home island, away from it, two days after this day to it's big success. He, Sansan, his girl bestfriend since they were a kid, and some of his classmates are going to the celebration too because almost all of them are fan of the movie, knew the movie. Not just in his school, but all over the Netherland.

He love it because it's so unique, Earth is just a legend place in his world, in their world exactly, Netherland, that's what their world called, where they say humans like them are living in Earth, but no one knows if it's true. In the movie Earth, they show there that the Netherland, their world is just a legend world to them and to open the gates of Netherland, they need to find and complete all the seven gems. There is a rumor that the seven gem is buried in every different continent, and the last two of them is one from the government and one is from the Main Character, named Asuka who's father was missing and killed in the first scene of the movie.

The people living in Earth, forgot about believing that the Netherland exist because that legend was build thousands of years ago, the day after dinosaurs dies, until one day, everything changed when Asuka, the main character, meet her other self that is living in their world (Netherland) and touch each other, the first reason why the ending must happens.

That is why they love, he love the movie, because they make a fantasy movie about their legend world called Earth and they even included their world. Akai is so fan of it, that he learns about it, he search about it, finding clues if Earth really exist, one of his hopes is to find out if the legend world really exist.

If Earth really exist.

A cop went inside his room. "Sorry to interrupt." The cop apologizes. "It's alright." Akai said. They both look to each other and the cops shrug his head and continue to search.

Akai and most all of the police known each other for a years now, I mean the whole department because he was in jail for years too, a murder case.

Police are in their house, searching for anything that can point to his mother's killer, or why all this year her dead body was found, and where she was this past 7 years.

"Mr. Chamberlain, does your wife have enemy? Or someone that she fought to?" One of the police officer asks. "No, I know my wife, even it's almost a year since I last saw her beautiful face. She is a good person. She never had a fight before, or she doesn't have any enemies." Akai's father said. The police took a deep breath. "But you lived in this Island, where bad people lives. The way you explained your wife's personality, felt like she doesn't belong here." The police officer said. Mr. Chamberlain, or Akai's father felt interrogated on what the officer said. " Are you trying to say that because we lived in Dark Island, our attitude must be evil too? As far as my concern, the reason why we lived here is because our powers is deadly, not because we are a murderer or something." Mr. Chamberlain said. The police officer tried to speak again, but he stop him. "And yes. You are right. My wife doesn't belong here." He added.

The argument between the two stop when Akai came and look to them.

"Dad. I'm going." Akai said. They both stop talking and look to Akai. Mr. Chamberlain's mood changed after he saw Akai in his school uniform. "Enjoy your day son." His father said. Akai just smiled. "You're not going to eat your breakfast?" His father ask. "I'm not going to eat breakfast today dad, I already drink a milk." Akai said and went out.

His father and the police officer continues to talk. They didn't know that Akai heard it all, he heard everything they both said. From the police discriminating his island, his home...

But is this is his really home?

But... luckily, Akai is full of possitiveness in his self, even in his darkest days, he can't let the negative energy destroy his perfect day, even it's not a perfect day for him, he can't let his day got eaten by a negative energy that isn't about him, a negative energy that he knows nothing will good can do.

After minutes of riding the bus to his school, he finally arrived his school. He walk inside and he saw students are gathering on the hallway of the school. "Hey Akai" His soul almost left his body when his bestfriend greeted him. "Goodmorning Sansan." He greeted back. "Are you okay? Alright? Or maybe fine?" His bestfriend ask simultaneously question. Akai smiled at chuckles."I am fine. Why'd you asks that? By the way,what is happening there?" He ask and point out where students we're gathering. "Oh, I don't know, but as far as I heard earlier to those noisy students, there's gonna be a random person who can win the golden ticket for the Netherland celebration, by just writing their names on the paper." Sansan answered. "And, I am going to write my name there." Sansan added. "What? Why? You already have a ticket right? What? When you win the ticket, who's the person your gonna give it? Your mom?" He said and they both laugh, Sansan laugh awkwardly, because it's not a funny joke, but she doesn't want to hurt Akai's feeling, he already been through enough, so she doesn't want to look bad for him. "By the way, I got the news earlier, I got it on my mother's friends gossip. I'm sorry about your mom, don't worry, I'm always here by your side." Sansan said

"Come." Akai said and smiled at back her. He doesn't want to talk about his mother right now, specially inside their school. They walk on the long hallway and went upstairs, to be in their class...

After spending 6 hours of class, finally, the class is finished. He felt relief, he wanted to go home early today, he is not in his mood to stay longer inside his school. They all pack their things, and when Akai is finished, he went out of his classroom and he wait for Sansan outrside the room, but when he realized that Sansan isn't there or in her classroom, he starts finding Sansan all over the campus. Sansan and Akai always going home together, or if not, one of them will say their reasons why they aren't going home together, so Akai is so sure that Sansan is still inside the school campus, that is why he keeps finding Sansan.

"Where is she?" Akai ask himself. He went downstairs and passes through the emo lesbian girl, Kayla, who had sinned to him. "Kayla! Did you see Sansan?" Akai ask even he doesn't want too, but he doesnt have any choice, she is the first person he saw. "Oh yeah. She's on the hallway." Kayla answered with a smile on her face. "Is it real? Or such an imaginary answer so you could hurt me again?" Akai said. Kayla look down because of her own guiltiness. But Akai saw Sansan on the hallway near at the bulletin so he look to Kayla. "Thanks." and he said before he left her.

He start walking on the hallways towards her, and he approach Sansan who is standing in front of the bulletin board.

"You didn't wait for me." Akai said that make Sansan jump off the floor because of shockness. "You scared me! I am really sorry, I really need to take a pee." Sansan said

Akai look to the bullitin board and look back to Sansan "I knew it. Lots of people wanted to get the golden ticket." He said and they both walk outside the campus. Sansan look back, she felt disappointed.

Her last hope is gone.

She look to Akai, she wanted to tell to her bestfriend that money isn't fast to them right now. But she doesn't want, she's thinking about her mother. And she was afraid that when she told it to him, Akai will think that why is he friended with a poor girl. Akai is rich, the reason why he just get out of prison in a short time.

Sansan's family got bankrupt after her parents got divorced. That is why she can't afford the golden ticket of the celebration.

They we're just talking about random stuff while walking home, they laugh, they bond. People think that they are couple because of their closeness, but they're not. Theyre not couple or anything. Akai and Sansan both walk home everyday but they both ride the bus every morning because they can be late and they were neighbors.

When both of them arrived their each others home, they say goodbye to each other.

Akai just spent another day in his room, thinking about her mother again. He gets his phone on his bed side table, when he got his phone, he plug the earphone in his ears and play a song, a song that his mother used to sing to him, because it is her favorite one. He play it when he's losing hope to everything. His mother always told him that losing hope can lost a soul, and positiveness can light a dark soul. Even though he doesn't really know what his mother is saying, he's just keep doing it, because all the things his mother's word is the only thing that he'll remember to her.

After that night, he went to school and Kayla approach him. "Your Sansan's bestfriend right?" One student ask. "Why?" Akai ask back. The student gave him a ticket. "Sansan won the golden ticket for tomorrow." Kayla answered.

Akai get the ticket and look to it. Even he's confuse, he still give it to Sansan.

"Sansan!!" Akai called her. "Mhmm?" Sansan ask. "I have something to give you. Close your eyes." Akai said and Sansan close her eyes. Akai handed him the golden ticket. And when Sansan open her eyes, she is so shock on what she saw. "Is this mine?" Sansan ask and Akai nodded.

Sansan starts screaming because of happiness. Sansan hug Akai.

"OMG! Thank you very much! How'd you know?" Sansan ask. "How'd I know what?" Akai asks. "That I don't have a ticket?"

Akai is so shock when Sansan said that. He didn't know that Sansan doesn't have a ticket.

"I didn't know that you don't have a ticket." Akai said. Sansan stop smiling

and her happiness fade in just one second. "B-but. Why did you give me this?" And she point out to the golden ticket she's holding. "You've won it." Akai said. "Oh. I'm so sorry that I lied."Sansan whispered. "No, it's fine. You can tell me that later at lunch." Akai said when Sansan's teacher came inside the classroom, Akai went outside the classroom and he went inside his real classroom.

Sansan and Akai isn't in the same class, but they're friendship didn't split, that's how strong their friendship is.

But how strong their friendships can be if obstacles of challenges starts to be with them? Is it strong for them not to give up each other?

"So.. tell me. Why'd you lie that you already have a ticket when the truth is you don't even have one?" Akai ask while eating his lunch. "It's because... We we're bankrupt after my parents divorced." Sansan confess.

She is so guilty for not telling the truth to his bestfriend that they were bankrupt and money isn't fast to them. Akai look to her. he doesnt know about it, ofcourse, that is why he is shock. He stop eating his lunch and look to her.

"Sansan, no matter how dark your secret is, I am your bestfriend. You can tell me everything, no matter what is it. Like I tell you how I poop in my pants last semester." Akai said and an awkward silence is standing in both of them. Just after a second, both of them laugh. "You did what?!" Sansan said. Yes, Akai just confess, Sansan didn't really know about it, Akai did it so Sansan will not be afraid of confessing some secrets of her. "So you are the one who smell poop last time? What? Tell me more about it!" Sansan said. "I ate a lot of ginger that time! And I thought it's just a fart, but then I was so shock when the thing came oyt of my butthole is a freaking poop!" Akai said. They both laugh again while looking to each others eyes.

After a seconds, they stop talking and just looking at each others eyes, when Akai got shock after what Sansan did to her, after when Sansan kissed her lips.

After a seconds their lips stand apart.

"I-im sorry." Sansan said and she stood up and walk away.

Akai is just sitting on the chair, not knowing what to do. He touches his lips, thinking about what just happened seconds ago.

Akai went home alone, he didn't see Sansan after lunch. Maybe Sansan is avoiding him because of shyness. She kissed her boy bestfriend! Can you believe it?

Akai lie down on his bed, thinking about what happened at lunch and he didn't realize that he just fall asleep.
