The man in the lab coat walked over to Eric and Asher and shook both of their hands.
“It’s very nice to meet both of you. My name is Vincent Winters. I am the oldest of the Winters brothers, and I am the main researcher at this lab.”
Vincent looks at the rest of the group and then looks back at Asher and Eric.
“I would like to talk to the hunters alone please, I will take them to the back of the lab to show them the damage that the supernatural creature has caused to the lab. I would like the rest of you to stay here.”
After saying that Vincent looked at his brother again and Thomas nodded his head. Vincent started walking toward the side of the lab, Asher and Eric followed him as he turned the corner and walked a few feet then he stopped and took a deep breath.
“My brothers want to believe this thing is just a vengeful spirit, but I want you to know that I know they're wrong. I think this thing is a creature with at least one witch helping them. I’m not saying this to be rude to you Asher but you are old enough to know that some witches do bad things with their powers. I also think my brothers only want to believe it's a vengeful spirit because it is a lot easier to stomach then that a group of people are working to cause problems here. My brothers like to believe that the locals have come to be grateful that we are here. The two of them like to see the world through rose colored glasses. But honestly the locals hated us and hated us before we even got here it was noticeable that they didn’t want us here before we started building this facility. I doubt that they would magically start liking us being here just because we have jobs for some of them and build them a little town to live in. my brothers are full of bull crap to think that would change the locals minds.”
Vincent started walking again and sighed. Asher walks faster to walk beside Vincent
‘What makes you so sure it is a creature doing this, Thomas seems very sure that it is a spirit.”
Vincent looked at Asher then sighs and looks up at the moon.
“You have been to some of the other places the creature has attacked haven’t you? When you were there did you see any signs that it was a spirit rather than a creature?”
“The only other place we have been to was the warehouse that was attacked a couple of days ago. But there were no signs of a spirit. We even used a relic and device to find spirits, but it could be that too much time has passed since the attack and that there may be nothing left from the spirits to set off the relic or device.”
“Maybe but I have seen the warehouse and that is a lot of destruction for a spirit to cause, not to mention why would a spirit do something like that. Normally a vengeful spirit only attacks people who disturb their grave or wronged them in life, right? So why would it attack our wearhouse there were no graves here and a building cant wrong you in life. It is the aftermath of something I or my brothers had done to someone why isn't it attacking us? Or if it is one of our worker who wronged it why is it attacking our buildings? And the last option is that it is a vengeful spirit that is being controlled by a witch or witches, but the amount of magical juice it would take to swing that kind of power over a vengeful spirit isn't realistic when they could more easily summon a monster to do it. Plus the vengeful spirit would have to be very strong to do the things that are happening and it would have to have already been here you can't force a vengeful spirit out of its domain without an object it is binded to. And more over the damage that is becaused is to much for me to believe that just one thing is behind it. Also the way the damage is being caused seems to be being caused by a physical being not a spiritual being. I also doubt that if a spirit had caused all that damage at the warehouse just 3 days ago that there would be no residual energy of the spirit left behind. Max’s mother things they summon something with that ritual that was done, but she wasn’t forsure what they could have summoned, I think they summoned a guarding creature to protected they land from us or a spirit to pose something.”
Asher looked up to Vincent in shock. It was against the law to summon spirits to possess you to make you stronger or more powerful.
“Why would you think they would summon a spirit to possess them if they got caught doing that they could be executed for it. Not to mention they would have to get a god or goddess to help them. Possession summonings are very difficult and take a lot of witches to do it.”
They then rounded the corner, they could see the full extent of the damage that had been done. There were large claw marks in the side of the building and the power line pole had been cut down more than once. There were marks in what looked to be a chemical bin and lids ripped off of other bins that were knocked over and trash cans knocked over and trash flung all over the place.
Vincent looked at Asher and smiled.
“Do you think a spirit would do this?”
Asher looked at everything and then looked at Vincent.
“You seem to already know a lot about what's going on here, so what do you really think is doing this?”
Vincent looked up at the night sky deep in thought and kept looking at the sky weigh his next words carefully.
“ I honestly believe that the locals that wanted to stop us from building here made some kind of deal with a god or goddess to give them power to make them strong enough to get rid of us and the ritual was to summon the god or goddess they made a deal with. I think they let the god or goddess turn some of them into creatures to attack us. But they don’t have the stomach to kill us, yet so they attack our buildings instead.”
