A Search For The Unknown

The warehouses investigation

Asher walked over to one of the boxes that weren’t completely destroyed and picked up what looked to be a pill bottle.

“What were you storing in here?”

Thomas walked over to Asher and looked down at the bottle in his hand.

“This is a medicine we recently made and was sending off to a third party to start having it tested to make sure its safe for the market. The other boxes have products made in the factory to be sent to stores. We make new drugs here and food. We have a deal with the government to farm some of the rare herbs here to make new types of drugs and food. We have a large farm in a clearing in the woods just a hundred yards in the wood over that way that we grow our herbs we use.”

Thomas points out the doorway into the woods. 

“We don’t take any of the herbs from the wildlife in the area to help from being affected by our efforts to protect the animals in the area and to stop the change of the earth just for money. I care alot about the animals and climate of the earth so I myself oversee all the farms we run to make sure that they don't affect the area ecosystem. It's our responsibility to protect the earth since we live here.”

“Wow, few rich people would agree with you.”

“I’m well aware of that fact but I don’t care to be honest. It's redundant that they don’t care more about the future of this earth or worry about what they are doing to the earth or how the future people will deal with what they do to this earth that we all live one. What they are doing will affect all of us. To be honest they all anger me and make me disgusted with how greed has taken them. When me and my brother took over the Winters international Corporation we made it a top priority to help better the earth rather than destroy it.”

Asher looked up at Thomas and saw the passion in his eyes. Asher could tell that he was telling the truth and really did care about the earth. 

“So what will you do with this mess now?”

“We will have some people go through here and collect everything that is still intact, the rest will be destroyed or recycled. The bigger problem is how far behind this mess puts us.”

Asher walks over to Eric to get the tools out of the backpack to check for spirits and starts searching the rubble for any signs of what could have caused all of this destruction. 

“Dad, do you want to run the machine and I will use the relic to see if we can find a trace of the spirit to figure out what did this and we can both search for evidence of what did this.”

“Yes I will use the machine just be careful of the glass okay.”  

“Yep I’ll be careful.”

Asher pulled out the relic and started walking to the northern corner of the warehouse. When he reached the northern corner he started walking to the south corner slowly looking at the relic and the ground paying close attention to both. If there was a ghost in the area in the last week the relic will get warm and start to glow. The relic can also track ghost by changing colors the closer it gets to the ghost. The relic was made by a member of Asher’s mothers family a few generations before Asher. The relic was one of the many things his mother left for him after she passed.

As Asher walked in straight lines around back and forth through the warehouse as he walked he noticed a smell like wet dog but  he wasn't forsure. He also didn’t know why he would smell a wet dog.

“Are there dogs allowed in this area?”

Max looked up at Asher in surprise.

“Yes we have  security guards that patrol the area and most of them have a dog that they patrol with. Why do you ask?”

“I can smell a wet dog and wasn’t forsure why. So I wanted to check to see if you had dogs in the area or if it has something to do with whatever did this.”

“Oh well it rained the night  of this attack and it was a guard with a dog that first found that this warehouse had been attacked and that so much stuff had been destroyed. I would imagine that his dog would have been wet when he came in to assess the damage that had occurred. I am amazed that you can smell that well.”

“I couldn’t normal but a few years ago I started using a spell every month to make me able to smell better then a dog. It really helps to hunt creatures because a lot have a distinctive smell. It isn't always great though.”

Asher started walking again in hope of finding something else he writes down in his notebook about the smell even if it is the guards dog it is important to keep track of everything. 

Eric and Asher finish doing their search of the warehouse without finding anything else of significance. The group decides to leave the warehouse and move on to the next location. The next location  is the lab. As the group walks to the lab they walk along the fence by the woods. As they walk they hear a growling coming from the woods. Asher turns to look at the wood to see what it is as he does a black dog comes running at the fence growling and barking at the thing growling at the fence. The black dog is huge and it has long hair and bright yellow eyes the dog is to Ashers hip. The dog kept growling at the wood and moved itself in front of Asher almost as if it was trying to protect him from whatever was in the woods.
