A Search For The Unknown

The Theory

Asher looked grimmly toward the woods, swallowing hard and wondering if what he had seen was one of these creatures. Asher started to question so many things. Eric stepped forward and looked at Vincent.

“How can you be sure that the locals would go to such lengths to get rid of you and your brothers? Especially now that you have already finished building your facility.”

Vincent walked over to one of the claw marks in a tank. Put his hand next to the marks run his fingers down the metal right next to the marks his eyes intranzed by the marks.

“This tank held all my work for the last 6 months, a replacement for blood it would have revelisionized so many different procegerss and saved so many lifes. When the creature took out the power and the backup generator it caused a power surge that fried our computer and back up hard drive system.  I don’t have any evidence that it is them but there is a lot of evidence that it isn’t a vengeful ghost. Plus the locals were the ones who had been against us building here they wanted to protect this land for some reason why wouldn’t they still want to protect it? If the creature scares us off or kills us they can tear down our facility and let the land grow back. They could easily get this land back to the way it was before we got here. They petition to get our building permits recalled because they claimed this land was sacraide

I don’t doubt they would go this far to get it back. But the only way to know for sure is for you two to catch the creature and figure out what it is.” 

Vincent walked away from the tank and turned to face Eric and Asher with a grim look on his face deep in thought and waiting for Eric or Asher’s response. Asher calmed himself and looked at Vincent.

“If you were us what would you do?”

Vincent smiled at Asher.

“First I would get proof of what the creature is. Set up cameras and find out where it comes from and where it goes and get proof it is one of the locals or that the locals control it.”

“Then that's what we will do thank you Vincent.”

Asher and Eric returned to the group and Vincent went back to the lab. The group agreed that, they had done enough for the night and that it was getting late.

Asher and Eric returned to the hotel, Asher went to sleep with a new plan for how to hunt the creature.

When Asher and Eric got up they decide to set up trail cameras on the trees just outside of the fence around the facility. They set up some facing into the facility and some facing into the woods with hope to get a picture of the creature. As they were put up the cameras Asher started to wonder a lot of things and decide to voice his thoughts to his father.

“Do you  think vincent is right?”

“I think that he is right that it is a creature that might being added by a witch and that before the ritual it was probably just a witch. But I won’t believe that someone would go so far as to summon a god or goddess and make a deal with them to turn them into a monster with out proof. A deal like that is unheard of and the consequences of making a deal like that can effect multiple generations so I doubt any coven would willingly make a deal like that. And it would have to be a coven one witch alone could not summon a god or goddess not even a lesser god or goddess it take a lot of energy to summon a god or goddess and a lot of resources. It’s not something people do willy nilly. But on the other hand a single witch could summon a creature and bind it to her or his will. So it is very possible that the Winters International Corporation angered a lone witch and they are working with a creature they summon to get back at them. But I also wonder why the locals try so hard to stop them from building this facility and I think we should go talk to them eventually. But for now we need to find evidence of what is happening here before we go confront them about why they would go to such lengths to stop them from building here. Plus I think we should find out about that secret religion that the Private Detective claimed they had going on here. I think we should search the woods today to see if we can find anything from the religion or find any marks or fur or anything from that thing that you saw last night that growled at us.” 

“What if we can't find anything left behind from when they used to do rituals in the woods for the religion or what if they didn’t do them out here in the woods?”

“Well I think the woods had to hold a lot of importance to their religion, otherwise why would they try to stop the Winters International Corporation from building here. But if we can't find any proof out here we will have to come up with a plan B for how to get evidence to confront the locals with to get them to talk to us about what witch might be doing this or what creature might be doing this. But either way we need evidence before we go to the locals otherwise they will just turn us away without giving us answers.”

“You make a good point but I doubt there is anything still out here and you would think that if it was a religion that isn’t sanctioned by the government that they would have covered their tracks well.”

“You might be right Asher, but if this area is a sacred place for whatever they worship or pray to they couldn’t just up and move their sacred place for it.”

“You think they are still doing rituals out here?”

“I’m hoping so it would make it much easier for us to prove that they are out here causing it or responsible for what is happening an if they are still doing rituals out here there will be something left behind and make our job so much easier for us to prove it and figure out what is going on here.”
