While everyone was busy eating,

Cherry felt uncomfortable because of the way he was staring at her. Cherry just wanted to get out from there so she grabbed the plate. Cherry insisted on helping kiara , which kept everyone shocked – except Steve – cause he knew she was running away from him.

When Cherry noticed it was just her and kiara, she decided to open up to her “There’s something off about him that can’t be ignored.” (She whispered, confused.) “Steve, there is this way he looks at me – I don’t like it. Everything just seems off about him. kiara , turn to face her with a smile.”

“C’mon, just free yourself around him. You’ll like him. She breathes in.” “I understand your fears. Don’t you see how happy your mom was around him? If he was not a good man, he could not make your mom that happy. Do this for your mom Cherry thought about it and decided to let it slip away. She told herself she could not *shun* the feeling that the man was not real. The relationship was going smoothly with her mom and the stepdad, Steve. She wanted to tell her mom that she does not trust Steve because he looks at her mom *in a way* she remembers—her promise.

After 6 months, her mom and Steve decided to get married. After the marriage, Steve lived with them. Cherry thought that because he does not have his house, she had to confront her mom about that issue, but she asked her to forget about it.

Two months later, Cherry was staring out of the window when a strong hand had her wrist. It was just her and Steve at home. *Cherry jerk away from his touch. “Calm down. I don’t bite.” He smiled at her. There is something about him that I can’t place. My finger on but one think I know is that you are not real

He gave her a sly smile.

‘What makes you think I’m not real?’ he asked

"Everything about you feel off ,But when I get to know you are playing a game with my mom, you can’t hide what I do to you.

And she walked away. She didn’t reach the door when she felt his strong grip on her arm. It hurt her, but she didn’t want to show him she was hurt.

‘If l was you, I would mind the way l talk, you l don’t know who I am.’ or what I’m capable of. So keep your nosey self to yourself

. He leaned and kissed her cheek, then walked away. Cherry used the back of her palm to wipe her cheek.

After a month, Steve insisted the move to another town – her mom’s house. It was bigger than the one they were staying at, and her mum agreed. Cherry felt that something was going to go wrong every thing felt wrong

her mom got a written transfer to the new town there, things got well settled and Steve seems to be going out over there more often, Cherry decided to go visit her uncle. cause kiara gave birth during the time the moved out she wanted to spend more time there and get away from that creepy man and also choose the university she wanted to attain ...

cherry got back from her friends house (yes she had a friend) when she got back, the house seems calm, but not in a good way. she met uncle john at the sitting room with his head in between his elbows, "wait was he crying, and aunt kiara was also crying

the first thing that got to cherry mind was the baby if the baby was okay she ran to her uncle

"uncle why are you crying is anything wrong " but he was silent that she had to repeat the question again

Aunty kiara funnily spoke up with a shaky voice "we got a call from Steve after you left that your mom ...mom went ...into...seizure...this morning

cherry immediatly fell silence a sense of unease creeping inside her

"how is she doing now "

after sometime her uncle spoke his voice shoke and barely above a whisper

"cherry she is dead, she is dead ” he kept repeating it

each words dropped like a bomb on Cherry, she fell on the ground why tears stream down her cheeks she was to weak to scream just then her uncle continued

"it was discovered that your mum had stomach cancer and she was at stage 4 not taking treatment and the cancer spread when she had the seizure her body was to weak to fight so she died "

tears were flowing from Cherry eyes when she heard those lies

"my mom was never sick she was healthy no trace of disease no trace it all a lie my mom was never sick "

the all cried the room was filed with sound of weeping cherry knew her mum never had cancer so she did not understand what was going on and she knew no one will belive her word without evidence
