Chapter 11

1530 Words
Niam is looking around the office for Andromeda. "Who knows if your mate is still here?" He turns to look at Alaric because he just realized Alaric said Andromeda had frozen him. Niam looks at Alaric, confused. "Did you say your mate froze me?" "Yes, I said that, and yes, she did. No, my beautiful mate isn't here, " Alaric touches his lips. "There's no doubt that Andromeda is my true mate. I felt the sparks and a lot more when she kissed me." He looks at the huge imprint that's still in the pants. "One thing is for sure, Andromeada isn't shy and has Spartian, and me intrigued." "Man, I have never been around anyone who can be invisible and freeze me. I'm still not okay with the freezing me part." Niam points at him, shaking his head. Who is your mate, or should I say what is your mate?" "I have a good idea." He smiles, "I'm going to go find out if I'm correct, she's my goddess." Alaric chuckles, "A goddess." "A goddess." Niam mumbles, scratches his head."Enemies become mates is going to be fun to watch. I'll just sit back and wait for the outcome of this." **** Dorian is still trying to spark a conversation with Mikkos. He stares at her, shaking his head, wondering if he wants to hear her thoughts. Because whenever he did, it was always about ways of seduction for him. That was one of the reasons he blocked her. Mikkos frowns, "Where is Brandon?" "He came home late, so he's still asleep." She squinches her eyes, knowing where this is headed. Mikkos jumps up, glaring at her, "This is the man who will be king. What kind of king sleeps all damn day? The more I think about Brandon, isn't may not be worthy to rule. When was the last time he fought in a battle? Brandon has to prove to me that he can be king. So far, I'm not impressed. Maybe it is time to reconsider a lot of my previous decisions." "I knew he wasn't going to be thrilled about Brandon. But I had no idea he would go to the extreme. There is no way anyone except for my son can sit on that damn throne." She's thinking aand looking at Mikkos leave the room. "What did he mean by a lot of his previous decisions?" Dorian sits there for a few minutes replaying everything Mikkos said. "Aphro, is he also talking about mating with me?" She slams the table with her hand. "I'll never let that happen. Just like I'll never allow that brat of hers to be queen. I'll die before that happens." Brandon steps out of the shower; he's still pissed about last night. He thought for sure that Rima was a sure thing. Because she's friends with Giada. Everyone knows that Giada is a sure thing. "That b***h played me." "Young man, you need to get your s**t together." His mother storms into his bedroom without knocking. "Mother, what have I told you about entering my bedroom without knocking?" He wraps a towel around his lower body. She ignores him, "Your father isn't happy with your actions. Mikkos said he's reconsidering you as the next king." Brandon's head snaps, "If not me, then I know he isn't talking about that half-bred bitch." "That's the way I took it. Also, he made a value point. That is, you haven't been here when there was a battle." Dorian gives him a stern stare, waiting for an answer. An answer that never came. "I suggest you get your ass in check or else everything we've worked for was a waste of time. Get your ass out there on the training field. Make sure you show up at the next war." He heard her, but right now he's thinking about the witch. "Mother, that b***h lied to us. We need to kill her for taking our money, and that bastard is still alive." Alpo, his wolf, is fussing at him for wanting to kill their father. Alpo said there isn't any hurry to be king; it will come in time. That is, if it's meant to be. Brandon tells him to shut up. If he wanted his opinion, he would have asked for it. Dorian tells him that the witch doesn't live here, and she's a traveling witch. Who knows when she'll return? For some reason, she doesn't think it's the witch's fault that she doesn't know why she believes that, but she does. He sits down. "Are you saying that someone interfered with our plan? If that's true, who and how would they know?" "I'm only guessing," Dorian shook her head, walked out of the bedroom, and stopped in the middle os the hallway. If Mikkos knew anything, we would know by now. Everyone would know, because we would be dead. Torture then kill. Mikkos would accept the pain if he knew I betrayed him." **** Aphrodite has been asking Andromeda a thousand questions about her meeting with Alaric. Andromeda keeps telling her the same thing over and over. Andromeda buries her face in a throw pillow and mentally screams. Apollo, Hades, Ares, and Hercules are laughing at their niece. Andromeda is begging them to get their sister. "Sister dear, leave the child alone. She has told you everything. Who knows how many times? Give her a break. let her tease her mate as she pleases. I'm sure there's something she left out. After all, she is of your blood. We all know how you love to tease men." Ares held his hand up, and a goblet filled with wine appeared in it. Aphrodite looks at Aresa and shushes him. "My daughter never mentioned if she accepted the hand man." "No, she didn't say. Andromeda will tell us when she's finished playing with him." Hades chuckles "She is definitely ours." Apollo pats Aphrodite's shoulder. "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Hercules sits beside Andromeda, "Hey, kiddo, ignore you, mother. We can't blame her for her actions. Remember who she is." Andromeda looks at her mother, "How could I forget?" She looks out the window, smiles, and mumbles, "musk and oud. I don't have much time to say this. Be good, my mate is here." She points at her mother. "Especially you. Wait," she pointed between Ares and Hercules, "Don't kill him." She frowns and sees Hades walking toward the door. "No, no, no, my mate. I'll answer the door," she looks at the denim shorts and halter she changed into when she returned from seeing Alaric's pack. "Perfect," she giggles. "See what you have created." Hercules hits Aphrodite's arm. "Ouch," she rubs her arm. "I don't see anything wrong with my daughter." Andromeda takes a deep breath and opens the door. She looks at Alaric and the huge bouquet of red orchids. "What brings you here?" Alaric looks around her at the empty hallway ."May I come in first?" She almost laughs, but stops as she steps back. " Come in. Now what brings you here?" "Since you visited me this morning. I thought it would be only right I make the next move. By the way, I enjoyed your move." He winks at her. Andromeda smiles and points at the orchids. "Are those for me?" "Yes, they are." Alaric gives her the flowers. "I hope you like them." She smells the flower. "They're beautiful, yes, I love them. Thank you." "Love is good. It's a better reaction than I expected." He's thinking. "Is there anything else?" She's still smelling the orchids. "Dinner, tonight, will you join me? We could finish our conversation from this morning." Alaric says while thinking, "Please say yes." Andromeda bites her lower lip, narrowing her eyes, looking at him. "Yes, I'll join you for dinner." Alaric was about to say something until he heard a noise coming from the living room. "I almost forgot your uncle is here." "Uncles and my mother. Come on, I'll introduce them to you. Don't let them intimidate you." She takes his hand, leading him into the living room. He's looking at their hands entwined, and he has forgotten about his future in-laws. Alaric hears four throats clearing. He looks up at four men staring at him with their arms folded. And a woman who is the spitting image of his mate, smiling at him. Apollo steps in front. We're Andromeda uncles. I'm Apollo. He points to Ares and Hercules as he says their names. That's Hades Andromeda, great uncle. Aphrodite walks to Alaric. "I'm your mother-in-law," she circles Alaric and stops in front of him. "Nice, very nice. I couldn't have done better myself. I'm Aphrodite, no last name. My word, you and my daughter will make beautiful and handsome babies." "Mother." Andromeda's shaking her head at her mother. Her mother glances at Andromeda and Alaric, entwined hands. "Oh yes, lots of babies." Alaric looks at Aphrodite, a little shocked that she's talking about babies. He's also absorbing heir names. "Aphrodite, Hades, Hercules, Apollo, and Ares. Darn, I was expecting Zeus." "I would hate to disappoint you." Zeus appears next to Andromeda.
