Chapter 9

1330 Words
Brandon stares at Alaric, confused. "What's interesting? " "Nothing much. So you said the man was Andromeada's uncle. " He gives him a stern stare. What does your father think of this Hercules? Besides not knowing about him. "I don't believe they will be friends," Brandon asks, but wonders why Alaric is interested in the uncle. He tells them he just stopped by for a minute, and he needs to head home to train. Maybe that will keep his father off his ass. His father has started comparing him to his half-sister. "You'll never measure up to my mate." Alaric thinks as he tells Brandon he'll see him later. Niam shook his head; he knew exactly what the Alpha meant by that. It wasn't see you in a good way. He waits for Brandon to leave. "Now tell me what's interesting. I know it was more than you, Andromeda's uncle." "White dove, centaurs, a chimera, and now a Hercules." Alaric smiles, "Aphro. "I'm still piecing the puzzle together. But if I'm on the right track, it's going to be one hell of a shocker and a show." Niam still doesn't know what he's talking about. He changes the subject to Pablo and Cheick, avoiding them. Alaric said he has been thinking about that and wonders if they have a snitch. If so, he or she will perish. **** Andromeda and Hercules are still on the patio when Aphrodite arrives. Andromeda laughs, looking at her uncle, who is staring at her mother, shaking his head. "Brother dear, I know that looks. What is it?" Aphrodite kisses her daughter and hugs her brother. "What are you two laughing about?" Andromeda points to he uncle, "Ask my handsome uncle." He points to a chair and waits until his sister sits down. "The man I met today isn't the man you told us about. Mikkos has always been known to be a male chauvinist asshole. His damn chauvinism is about to get him killed. From what I heard, he was known to be one hell of a ruler. What happened to him when he mated with that despicable woman?" "That is a good question. This Mikkos isn't the man I fell in love with. The man I fell in love with was gentle and caring. I had no idea he was a blockhead." Aphrodite looks at her daughter. "This Mikkos is so headstrong about having a male heir to replace him that he's willing to put a bastard who harms him on the throne." "Mother, have you had any luck finding out who the witch was that brewed the poison? " Andrimeda says, but it's looking at Cheetara getting into the pool. "Nope, I haven't looked into it because Mikkos is a damn fool. I'm not saving his ass again. Old ass bastard." Aphrodite says in a very uncorned tone. "Next time we'll let his ass die. I'm sure there will be a next time." Hercules looks at Andromeda. "Tell me if I'm wrong. I thought a mate could hear their mate's thoughts. By that jerk being the King of Werewolves, should he be able to hear that man and her son's thoughts?" "Yes, but my father keeps those two clowns blocked all the time. I once asked him why he does that. He said that neither one ever has anything worth listening to." Andromeda frowns. "I want to know who the witch is that was brave or stupid enough to go against my father." She looks at her mother and uncle staring at her. "What?" "Why are you so concerned about that man?" Hercules asks in a harsh voice. Her mother nods, "My question exactly." "I never said I was concerned about father. I'm just curious. But when I find her or him, they're dead. Right now, my father is my enemy. I said, My enemy. That doesn't give anyone else the right to try to kill him." Hercules looks at Aphrodite. "That's your daughter. She isn't sure if she wants to kill him or not. But with you, it's love him or hate him." "Hate him right now." Aphrodite mumbles at the same time, and Andromeda mumbles, "Kill him right now. "Yep, like mother, like daughter." Hercules picks up his glass. Andromeade cut her eyes at him. Then looked toward the woods, wondering why Alaric had come there earlier but didn't claim or reject her. He probably said the same thing about me the other day at the bar ***** Later that evening, Alaric attended a business dinner. He owns several car dealerships and a commercial jet business. This evening, Taj, his Gamma, is with him. He wanted Adhir to check into the matter they had discussed earlier regarding Pablo and Cheick. After the meeting, Alaric wasn't ready to go home, so he thought they would dine out. He can't stop thinking about his mate. Alaric thought about visiting her tonight, but decided against it because it wouldn't be a good time, since her uncle may still be there. When they enter the restaurant, the first person they see is Brandon. He's having dinner with Rina. She's one of Giada's friends, and it's also on Alarric, Taj, and Niam's dislike list. "That fool sure does know how to pick his friends. I don't say anything, I know I'm in that category also." Alaric sits facing Brandon. "What do you think would happen if Brandon becomes king?" He glances at Taj. Taj leans back, shaking his head. "It wouldn't be good. Brandon has a thing for rouges. If it were up to him, he would be a damn rogue. One thing is for sure, the rouges would try their damnedest to take over, and Brandon won't do a thing about it." "My thoughts exactly." Alaric was looking at Brandon when Alpha Barrett Cruz tapped his shoulder. He looks up at The Alpha and speaks. Alpha Barrett looks at Brandon, "That young man will be our downfall if he gets his scheming ass on the throne. Sometimes I wonder what the hell is wrong with our king. Princess Andromeada won fair and square. All the Alphas have been talking about it and beleive they're not happy about it. They're planning to meet with the council regarding that bullshot. We would like it if you would attend. Aster all Alaric have the largest pack." Alaric said he'll be there, and he has a few things to say about it. "Good, good. We all have to stick together. If not, we'll be in a war with the rogues. And that damn new king would be fighting with them. Son of a bitch." Alpha Barrett looks at Brandon. Spartan yells he wants to kill Brandon, his mother, and that damn king in Alaric's head. Alaric tries to stay calm, tells him he was thinking the damn thing. But first they need to ralk to their mate. They have to remember that b***h ass king is still her father, which means he's their father-in-law. Alaric knew his wolf wasn't happy about the answer, nor was he. But they can't kill Mikkos, that might give their mate another reason to reject them. Brandon spotted Alaric and Taj the moment they entered the restaurant. He was glad they hadn't come five minutes earlier. If they had, they would have seen Cheick and Pablo sitting at the table with them. Rina hopes no one from her pack saw her sitting with rogues and reports it to her Alpha. Socializing with rogues is rule number two of Alpha Sawyer. This is one detail about her date that she's keeping to herself. And telling Giada is the last thing she can do. Fida has a habit of talking too much when it comes to other people's business. "Nosy old fart," Brandon mumbles when he sees Alpha Barrett talking to Alaric. He thinks Barrett is telling Alaric about the two rogues who just left. Now he worried that Alaric would mention it to him.
