Chapter 2: The Obsessed Emir

(Hasan's POV) The silk sheets felt unnaturally cold against my skin when I woke. My hand instinctively reached across the vast bed, seeking the warm, soft body that had been there only hours ago. Empty space greeted me. A low, dangerous sound rumbled deep in my chest as I sat up, the morning light slicing through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the penthouse. She was gone. Just the faint scent of jasmine and warm woman still clinging to the pillow beside me. I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and stood to my full height, naked and unashamed. My jaw tightened as memories flooded back—her legs wrapped tightly around my waist, her nails raking down my back, the way her tight, wet heat had clenched around my c**k as she came undone beneath me. She had moaned. She had matched my intensity, challenged my dominance, and then disappeared before the sun rose. No woman had ever left my bed without my permission. Ever. I walked to the nightstand and picked up the single diamond earring she had left behind. It sparkled between my fingers—delicate, expensive, and now mine. A trophy. Proof that last night had not been a dream. I grabbed my phone, my voice cutting through the silence like a command when Malik answered on the first ring. "Malik. A woman was with me last night at The Sky Lounge. American. Mid-twenties. Long dark hair, striking green eyes, beautiful in a way that stops a man cold. She left before dawn. Find her." There was the slightest pause—Malik knew me too well. "Yes, Your Highness. I will pull the security footage immediately and begin discreet inquiries. Should we involve local authorities?" "No," I said sharply. "This stays within our circle. Use the earring. She left it behind. Run it through whatever channels you need, but do it quietly. I want her name, address, and background by this afternoon. Do not approach her. Do not speak to her. Just locate her." "Understood, Emir. Consider it done." I ended the call and stepped into the marble shower. Hot water cascaded over my shoulders, but it did nothing to cool the fire still burning in my blood. I could still feel her—the way her breasts had fit perfectly in my hands, the way she had arched and gasped when I sucked her n*****s, the broken cry she made when I took her from behind, driving deep until she shattered around me again and again. She had been wild. Defiant. Addictive. And she had run. A dark smile curved my lips as I dressed in a tailored charcoal suit. Running from me was a mistake. One I would enjoy correcting. By the time I entered the living area, my team was already assembled. Mr. Khalid, my senior legal advisor, stood with two aides and my chief of staff. They all rose instantly, heads slightly bowed—the proper deference shown to the Emir of the United Arab Emirates. "Your Highness," Khalid began, his tone measured and respectful. "The motorcade is prepared. The meeting at Harrington Shipping headquarters is set for eleven o’clock. The family has confirmed attendance, including the late Mr. Harrington’s daughter. All documents for the formalization of the marriage contract and merger are ready for your review." I walked over to the window, hands clasped behind my back, staring down at the bustling streets. From up here, the city looked small. Conquerable. Just like everything else in my world. Except her. "I want changes," I said calmly, my voice carrying the weight of absolute authority. Khalid shifted. "Changes, Your Highness?" "I no longer wish to proceed with the marriage as originally agreed." I turned to face them, my expression unyielding. "Prepare options for dissolution or major modification. Offer generous compensation—cash, shares, alternative alliances. Whatever it takes to end this cleanly." A heavy silence fell over the room. Khalid’s face paled slightly, but he maintained his composure. "With the greatest respect, Emir Rafiq," he began carefully, "this agreement has been in motion for nearly four years. The late Mr. Harrington was one of our most strategic partners. Breaking the marriage contract now, especially so soon after his death, would trigger massive financial penalties. We are speaking of billions of dollars, delayed port developments in Dubai, and complications with our expansion into new African routes." I raised an eyebrow, my gaze cold. "Since when do financial penalties dictate my decisions, Khalid? I built an empire from oil fields and ambition. I do not bow to contracts signed by dead men." One of the younger aides looked visibly uncomfortable. Khalid glanced at him before continuing. "Additionally, Your Highness… the political situation at home cannot be ignored. Your step-brother and his mother have been watching closely. Any sign of instability—especially abandoning a major Western alliance—will be used against you in the next board meeting. They already whisper that you spend too much time abroad. That you are becoming… unpredictable." I stepped closer, towering over the older man. My voice dropped, smooth but laced with steel. "Let them whisper. I am Hasan Rafiq. I decide who shares my bed and who shares my throne. Not them. Not some dying man’s contract. And certainly not a woman I have never met." Khalid swallowed but pressed on, brave in his duty. "Perhaps the wisest path is to attend the meeting today as scheduled. Meet the daughter. Listen to their proposals. Maintain appearances. Then, if you still wish to withdraw, we can negotiate from a position of strength rather than sudden rejection. It would give us time to manage the fallout." I considered his words. As much as I hated delays, he was right. My step-brother Ahmed had been circling like a vulture for years, waiting for any weakness. Canceling everything abruptly would hand him ammunition. "Very well," I conceded. "We will attend the meeting. But hear me clearly, Khalid—I will not be signing any marriage documents today. Work on the exit strategy quietly. I want full reports on compensation packages by tomorrow morning." "As you command, Your Highness." Khalid bowed deeply, relief flickering across his face. As the team prepared to leave, I slipped the diamond earring into the inner pocket of my suit jacket, close to my chest. The small weight felt significant. A reminder. My mind refused to focus on shipping routes, mergers, or political consequences. All I could see was the lady who stole my night. The way her green eyes had burned with defiance even as her body surrendered to me. The way she had gasped and trembled when I pinned her beneath me. The way she had left—bold enough to walk away from an Emir. No. She had not simply left. She had challenged me. And I had never backed down from a challenge. I straightened my regalia one final time in the mirror. The man staring back was powerful, ruthless, and in complete control of everything—except the growing obsession burning in my veins. "Find her, Malik," I whispered under my breath. "Because when I see her again, I will not let her run a second time." I headed toward the elevator with my entourage, every step radiating authority. Today I would sit through their mourning and their desperate presentations. I would play the role as they expected. But my thoughts—and every cell in my body—already belonged to the woman who had dared to disappear from my bed.
