“That dagger might be enchanted,” Fae Aurora spoke up. “But how? What kind of spell could she have used?” Prily wondered aloud. “Fae Aurora, that doesn’t make sense. Caitlin isn’t smart enough for that.” “Caitlin isn't that smart, but she’s not completely stupid either.” Fae Aurora cupped her chin, deep in thought. Then she moved closer to me, gently tracing the stitched scar below my ribs. “How did it feel when it was cut, darling? Can you describe it to us?” Fae Aurora asked. I winced at her touch, memories of that night flooding back. “It felt like fire, like someone was dragging a hot blade through my skin.” Fae Aurora’s eyes glinted with a strange curiosity. “And what went through your mind at that moment?” “I thought I was going to die,” I admitted, my voice barely a whisper.
