CHAPTER 5: NEW MAID

Few days passed by, Hazel and her two adorable kids had returned to the moon hunter's pack, the pack she was previously banished from.

Hazel made sure to change her name, she was now bearing the name Ria to avoid suspicioions amongst the pack members. With a changed name and a different facial identity, no one would be able to have any idea that she was the same cursed Hazel they banished years back.

At first, she stayed in a lodge to study some things and get more informations about the pack laws.

Meanwhile, Killian had gotten married to Mira. His parents kept forcing him to settle down with a lady or else the throne would be taken away from him. In his quest to keep the throne , he had to approach Mira who immediately jumped at the offer. When they got married, Mira learned that this was just like a contract marriage.

Killian wasn't really interested in settling down after he banished Hazel from the pack, guilt still ate him up completely anytime he remembered how he acted nasty.

What if Tatiana, his sister hadn't stopped the guards ftom beheading her and pleaded with him to reconsider his decision to banish her instead?

And even with that? How was he sure that she wasn't dead. That night of her banishment, he went in search for her to at least guide her secretly to a neighboring pack without her seeing him, he searched around the woods but didn't see her.

He even went as far as visiting the neighboring packs he thought she might have been to but all of them informed him that they couldn't take her in less a bad omen befalls them.

He understood their plight and continued his search for months but there were no good prospects and he eventually gave up after years of searching and waiting.

He didn't actually give up completely, he still had people who he called to inquire if they had come across her. His parents pressured him to get married but he wasn't ready to settle down yet.

Dave, his beta knew about his plight and advised him to ask Mira to pretend to be his Luna for the main time. Killian found this idea intriguing and he immediately opted for it and approached Mira right away. Mira agreed at once as she became happy that she was finally achieving her dreams.

At first, she thought he was getting married to her out of love. But when she gets into the marriage, she discovers that he was just using her to keep his throne.

Even with that, she still didn't wise up and she felt she would do her best to make Killian fall head over heals in love with her.

However, Hazel , now known as Ria decided to begin her work in the palace as a maid. This is because she needed to be close to the Alpha so she could put her plans into action.

Her kids stayed with a friend, more like an aunt to her. When Hazel first arrived at the pack, Claire took her and the kids in to spend the night because they were exhausted having come far way from a distant land.

The next day, Hazel thanked her for her kindness and sort to look for a lodge where she could stay with her kids but Claire insisted they stayed with her since her house was huge enough to contain all of them.

Hazel didn't want to accept to this at first because she wanted to be independent and she had sworn to take revenge on all her pack members. But Claire reveals to her that she was a member of a distant pack and she just relocated here.

This softened Hazel's heart towards her and she agreed because soon, she was going to begin her work at the palace and she might need someone to watch over her kids while she stayed at the palace. Claire seemed like someone she could trust wholeheartedly with her kids.

"Attention everyone...gather at the courtyard, the head maid is about to give a short orientation to the newest recruits." A maid called Bianca yellled out across the maid quarters as they began filing out of their rooms, all dressed in their official maid's uniform.

Hazel was also amongst them, dressed in the maid's uniform as she made her way to the courtyard, alongside the others.

"Welcome everyone.....both old workers and new recruits....I'm going to hit the nail on the head right here." The head maid muttered, dressed in a more sophisticating uniform, different from the rest as her eyes scanmed all the maids.

"First are the rules that shouldn't be violated. If you are working here as a maid. You must not be caught in any dating scandal with any of the palace guards. There are different tiers of maid in this palace. The first tier are the ones who are to serve the meals and escort the members of the royal household and the second tier of maids are likely referred to as slaves. All new recruits fall under the second tier, your work is to clean their suites, do their laundry and all other petty things like running errands. You mustn't speak disrespectfully to any member of the royal family. Anyone who violates any of this rules would be executed. Note that tier 2 maids can be promoted to tier 1 if they work hard and prove their loyalty....." Her voice trailed off as they all listened attentively, nodding their heads at intervals.

Soon, they dispersed and fortunately, Hazel was assigned to clean the Alpha's suite. She was still looked on as a slave so she needed to prove her hardwork and loyalty so she could get promoted.

The guards let her into the suite and she glanced around, holding on to her cleaning agents but no one was in sight.

She plus checked again but no one was present and she decided to take a swift sneak peak in his suite to get a little whims of his weakness.

She began checking through his stuffs and it was at that moment that Killian came out from the bathroom in his royal robe, his hair dripping wet as it clung to his face.

"Who are you? And why are you searching through my stuff?" His voice boomed as Hazel's body stiffened in shock and she immediately spun around.

Her gaze met his cold eyes which held no emotions. He just stood there, glaring down at her like he couldn't wait to pounce on her and tear her apart into smoulderings.

Hazel could only mutter the first thing that came to her head. "I'm the new maid!"
