Chapter IV

I was about to leave the cafe when my phone started to ring "unknown number"

"Hello" I answered the phone

"Where the hell are you?!" And I knew right there who it was.

"I'm at a cafe near your building" I answered.

"Wait for me there" he said and hung up

I waited for him and within 10 minutes I saw his car stop in front of the cafe. I immediately enter the car to be welcomed by his not so happy expression

"Who told you that you can leave like that?" He shouted

I was too afraid to answer so I kept silent

"I'm talking to you" he shouted again

"I--I was about to enter but then the girl and you are---" I was cut off "did I told you to leave?" He said with gritted teeth

"N--no" I answered with my head bowed down

With that he drive off. No one was talking the whole time until we reach home. I immediately move out of the car and go straight to my room

I didn't know when but I found myself crying.

The next morning I woke up early and headed to kitchen to have my coffee. I was planning on swimming on the beach after so I put on my bikini and put a black top dress.

"Good morning Amelia, coffee?" Susan asked

"Good morning Susan, yes please" I replied

I was about to take a sip when I saw him sitting in front of me. I did my best and pretend that I didn't see him but then he started a conversation

"We'll be getting married next month" he said

I looked at him then realized that I should have expected this "okay" was my only reply. "I'm going swimming. I'll be going now" I said without looking at him

I feel relaxed as the wind touched my face. The sun just started to rise and its the perfect time to swim.

I pull off my top and that left me only wearing my bikini when someone suddenly cleared his throat. I look behind and see Lucas staring at me intently "you scared the hell out of me" I said but he seemed to be busy checking me out "my face is here Mr. Hayes" I said and he suddenly lifted his gaze.

He once again cleared his throat. "I just want to apologize for last night" he said averting his gaze somewhere

I didn't say anything. "I just got worried when Susan told me you're not home" he continued

I look at him and he's already looking at me "I'm sorry, its just that I don't know your address and so I decided to stay at the cafe"

He nodded "I'll be going swimming then" I told him before going to the water.

Lucas POV

As she was walking to the water I looked at her intently. This girl is doing something and I can't let this happen.

That night, when I first saw her I suddenly got attracted. Maybe because of her angelic face, that's why I decided to make her my wife. But I didn't plan it to be this way.

Yesterday when she's blabbering so many things about what she likes I find it cute that I wanted to slap my self for thinking that way. So when I got the chance to avert my attention I made out with Daniela right there where I know she would see. But then I regretted it.

But as the leader of mafia, I can't get attached to someone like this. I can't have a weakness.

And with that I left.

Amelia POV

Its 6 in the evening and I'm planning on cooking for Lucas to made up for our misunderstanding last night.

I asked for Susan's help to prepare. I made salad, and steak. I also asked for his favorite wine.

After I finished everything its already 8 in the evening and he hasn't arrive yet. I decided to wait for him at the receiving room.

After an hour I heard his car, at last he's home. I was about to greet him when I saw him enter with a girl. He was holding her hand and they just walked passed me. I saw him look at me but then averted his eyes to the girl he's with.

I told Susan to keep the food in the refrigerator and head back to my room. As I walked pass his office I heard the girl giggling. I just ignored it and went to sleep.

The next morning I was awaken by Susan "Amelia, wake up. You have to fit your wedding dress today" she reminded me. Oh I totally forget I'm going to get married.

"Okay, I'll be there in 20" I said and got up of my bed.

I hop on shower and choose simple blue body con dress for today. I match it with my sneakers. Okay I really look shorter with sneakers but I'm not in the mood of wearing heels today.

I head down the kitchen and regret going down. The girl Lucas with last night is still there and they're having breakfast. She stood up and smirked at me before leaving. What a slut. We are planning for our wedding yet his with another girl all night.

I sat there without talking to anyone. I had my coffee and saw its nearly 8. My schedule is 8:30. I immediately told Susan to call for the driver when Lucas suddenly appeared from nowhere "I'm accompanying you" he said

I just nodded and left the kitchen

We arrived at the shop exactly 8:25. They showed me three designs of wedding gown but the truth is whatever I wear doesn't really matter, I thought my wedding will be like fairytale but I guess I'm not going to have that kind of wedding. I thought I will be marrying the love of my life. The man that will love me and be with me for the rest of my life. The person who I'll be with in building our future, our own family. But I guess it will be impossible because I will be marrying this heartless man.

I try on the three gowns and the last one fits me more perfectly. Lucas also tried on different suits, I'm not going to lie, he looks good on everything he wears. His blue eyes kept looking at me but I always averted my gaze on something.

As we finished fitting we go to the next stop which is the cake tasting. "Aren't you busy enough to be going on stuffs like this" I asked

"Stuffs like this?" He laughed "this will be my wedding as well, just right that we'll be going together" he said

I just look away the whole ride. But something caught my eye. I saw an amusement park. I really love going to places like that. Catherine and I used to go there. I missed her so much.

"Want to go there?" He suddenly asked

"I actually love going there with my best friend before. It just reminded me of her" I answered.

We arrived at the store and started taste testing on different flavor of cakes.

"I really love the chocolate one" I told the owner. She nodded

"What layer do you want it then?" She asked "maybe the third and the rest will be chose by him" I answered

"The chocolate is fine with me, if that what you like then make all the layers the chocolate flavor she choose" he said

"That's so sweet" she said. "So regarding the design of the cake and as well as the venue, it will be black and white right?" The organizer asked

"Add some colors of blue" Lucas said. I looked at him as if asking why? "You love the color blue right?" He asked. I just nodded.

He's kind of attentive I told myself. "Everything is set" said the organizer. "Anything you want to change?" She asked.

He looked at me "you want to change anything?" He asked

"Everything's fine with me" I answered. "Okay, all is settled I guess?" Asked the organizer

And we simultaneously answered “Yes”
