Married to the Unpredictable Man

Chapter III

Amelia POV

Some of his maids help me with my things. I'm currently in one of the guest rooms. It feels so unfamiliar, I'll be living here without my dad and will be married soon to that emotionless man. I don't even know anything about him aside from his mame.

I suddenly got up when someone open the door of my room and from there I saw him stood in all his glory. He didn't say a word and seemed to be examining me before he approached me.

I felt scared of what he's planning to do. He stop right beside the bed "we have to discuss something" he said.

I sat properly as a sign that I'm listening. "You have to follow what I say. Pretend to be my true wife. I don't want you asking questions, I don't like you being nosy of what I'm doing. Just do what I say and we'll never have a problem" he finished.

"And if I don't?" I suddenly asked. What are you doing Amelia? Are you trying to get yourself killed? He seemed to be taken aback on what I said. He leaned closer that his lips brushes my nape and whispered "then I will have to punish you. So if I were you, be a good girl" he said before leaving the room.

The next morning I woke up way too early. It's only 7 in the morning. I decided to explore the place so I hop to the shower and brush my teeth. The weather here is warm so I just wore a shorts and tank top. I wore my slippers and walk out of the room. The mansion looks cozy in the morning. All the curtains were open and the sunlight goes through the high windows.

I find the kitchen and saw girl preparing breakfast. "Good morning" I greeted.

She looked at me and smiled "oh hi, Good morning Ms. Evans" she said

"oh just call me Amelia. What's your name?" I asked "okay Amelia, I'm Susan. What do you want for breakfast?" She asked

"A coffee will do. I wonder if maybe I can explore the place?" I asked

"Of course, the beach is good in the morning" she said

"Really? There's a beach near the place? I asked

"Yes, its just behind the house. You can check it out later" she said and I nodded in approval.

"Where's Mr. Hayes? I asked

"He already left" she answered casually. But its only 7 in the morning, how can someone be that early I mutter to myself

"Here's your coffee" she said placing a cup of coffee in front of me. "Thank you Susan"

After taking my coffee I went outside and walk by the beach. The waves are so calm and seemed to be calling me. I stayed there for hours just listening to the waves and enjoying the sun when Susan called for me.

"Amelia, Mr. Hayes is looking for you" she said. I stood and approached her. I think you need to go somewhere with him.

"We'll be attending a lunch meeting. I want to introduce you to some of my business partners. Your dress is upstairs, be ready" he said as he saw me walked in the house. I nodded and go upstairs. I put on the dress and surprisingly it fits me perfectly. It's a long black dress that has slit way too high for my liking. I put some make up on and fixed my hair up.

Before going down I checked myself one more time, I don't look that bad.

As I take the last step of the stairs I saw him waiting at the sofa. This is the first time I examined his appearance. He has a very broad shoulders that his suit fits perfectly. He has a very handsome face with a very serious expression most of the time. If only he knew how to smile then that would be better.

He suddenly look up and our eyes met. He averted his eyes to my body as if assessing me "I thought we'll never be leaving" he said as he stand and walk out of the house. I followed him to his Audi and drive off.

As we stopped in front of a hotel he suddenly gave me a small velvet box "since you are my fiancée wear this" he said. I opened the box and saw a big diamond ring.

"Its beautiful" I said without even realizing it. "I know" he said "wear it now and check if it fits" he said.

I wore the ring and it perfectly fit mine. Suddenly he opened the door and offered me a hand. I accepted it and we walked hand in hand.

"Hello Lucas" a man greeted him. He just nodded in reply "so who is this beautiful young lady with you?" He asked and winked at me but before he can answer the man introduce himself "I'm Rafael, and what's your name young lady?" He asked

"Amelia, nice to meet you" I replied "the pleasure is mine" he said as he hold my hand but before he could kiss it Lucas grab my hand "back off Rafael, she's my fiancée"

"Are you kidding Lucas? The famous Lucas Hayes is getting married now?" The man asked in disbelief.

He just ignored the man and pulled me beside him. "Don't mind him" he said.

The lunch go on with them talking about business and some other stuffs which I'm not interested at all. It felt like hours then suddenly they decided to go.

We were heading to the car "I just have to sign some papers at the office before we head home" he said and I nodded.

I can't really figure out this man, when he seemed jealous and then act like he doesn't care at all. While he was driving I got all the guts to start a conversation

"Since we're getting married soon, I want to know you better" I told him

He looked at me without any expression in his face "that's not necessary" he said

"But I want to" I said. "So I'll just start. I already know your name, hmmm how about your age? I'm 19, turning 20 next month I said"

"28" he answered. "My favorite food is carbonara, and you?"

"None" he replied

"I love color blue, any you?"

"None" he replied once again

"You’re so serious, you know that?" I told him

"You’re too childish and talkative, you know that" he shot back at me

I was about to say something but i just let it slide and zip my mouth

We step out of the car without talking to each other. The silence is deafening and I really want to talk but kept myself silent. We entered the elevator and he suddenly received a phone call. He ignored it and it stopped ringing. As we reach the floor of his office we immediately enter the room and to my surprise a blond girl wearing a very tight dress suddenly kissed him.

He pushed the girl "what are you doing here Daniela?" He asked

"I've been calling you, but you're not answering your phone" he said with a very flirtatious nasal voice. She suddenly look at me "who is this girl?" She asked

Lucas looked at me for a moment before turning away "no one" he replied. I don't know why but I felt pain struck through me.

"I need to go to the bathroom" I told him but he seemed to be busy with her blonde girl so I just leave

I composed myself before returning to his office and to my dismay they we're heavily making out. I didn't bother them and just left. I told his secretary that I'm going home and just let him know. I grab a taxi without even knowing his complete address so I decided to go on a cafe.

I ordered chocolate frappe and stayed there for hours. Until it started to rain. I missed my dad. I missed his sweet smiles. I missed being held by him. I missed everything at home. I missed Catherine. But I think I'm going to be stuck here, forever.
